She didn’t stir until the following morning. While her newfound power meant she didn’t have to rest much, the long, seemingly unending trip took its toll. So much so that she passed out the moment her head hit the pillow, regardless of how loud her new friends were talking.
Disoriented, she stumbled toward the kitchen and dropped into a chair. Only Terrell was there, preparing breakfast for everyone in the house. Yuuki drifted in shortly after. She grabbed something resembling coffee and sat down across from Ken. She smiled. “Uh, good morning.”
“You were afraid of me last time we met,” Kenna pointed out. “Is that still true?” Now, more than ever, the people here should fear her, but she wasn’t going to explain why.
