7. Visiting Grandparents

Lance POV
After deciding to find her, I called Dylan. After several rings, he picked my call.
"Yeah bro, tell me..." I heard his groggy voice. Hm...h must be still sleeping after last night's fun.
"Where are you.."
"I am the Blue Nile Hotel, what's up dude...you vanished yesterday from the club..."
"Yeah. Come to Central Plaza, I need to talk.."
"Seems something serious huh?? Alright, I will be there in fifteen minutes."
This is the speciality of Dylan, he very well knows me. I looked at the bed, it had the few tiny red spots proving her innocence. Hm...
Her scent still lingered on my body... I took a quick shower, by that time my assistant Macy arrived with the new clothes. I went ahead to Central plaza. Dylan came on time.
"What happened, man...I know you will not wake me up from bed for anything. Where you go last night...?? Did you...!!"
Before he could make random guesses I told him,
" I found a girl at the club and we had a night together..."
"Woah, man.Great progress...How was it...?? Is she fierce or gentle, expert or a newbie..."
I don't want him to make nasty comments about her so I stopped him with my response.
"Shut up Dylan... She is different from the rest of the girls I ever went for a one-night stand..."
"How different... Don't tell me that you had lobe at first sight..."
"No...She.. she was a virgin... and I never expected it..."
"So that is the matter... Now you feel some guilt about being her first... but it was her choice right...Is that the reason you wake me up from sleep..."
"Not only that... "
I paused and thought how could I tell him this as I know he will laugh at me badly.
"Okay...if you laugh, I will kick your balls okay... She left me without a word...and... she leaves a watch as..."
Before I could finish Dylan started laughing like an i***t. With frustration, I just glared at him as it is a public space and I don't want any attention from others.
"Enough buddy... you save your ass now because we are in public. But I got you..."
"So she left you with a tip for your performance... Haha... I never expected this will happen in my whole life..normally girls will come after you for desire, and you generously give money for them in the past. But after long three years, you went for a one night stand, and the girl is a smartass to give you a tip instead... I feel like, I should congratulate her for wiping the smug out of your face..."
"Dylan...that is enough...otherwise I won't mind the consequences of hitting you in public..."
After my final threat, he somehow controlled his laughter and said,
"Alright...what do you want now...?? Why do you call me...?? "
"I wanted to find that girl..."
"Really...!! Are you planning to take revenge on her... buddy, as you said it must be her first time and she may not want to owe you anything..."
"Dylan, I need to find her okay... you have a detective friend right, give him this job. He will be paid well."
"But Lance..."
" No more questions... I wanted the results in one or a maximum of two days..."
"Do you know anything about her... "
"Nope except her looks. She is beautiful, with amazing blue eyes, pouty lips..."
"Hold on... I don't want you to praise her beauty. Other than that do you have any clue..??"
"None... Your club does have CCTV right. take the footage and find the girl going out with me..."
"Alright, I will check and inform him as well. once the job is done, I will call you..."
"Okay... I am. heading back to the company...it is already getting late.."
As I stood up to leave, Dylan asked,
"Lance, what about the proposal your grandparents told...?? "
"I don't know anything about it... Granny threatened me that she will fix it even if I go there or not... Hm, if she fixes let her husband marry that girl..."
I heard Dylan chuckling at my response and I strode away and went to my company. I was feeling very energetic. Then I saw several missed calls from Grandpa. Normally Granny would be the one pestering me. Now, what happened... Grandpa also started the same thing...??
I picked the call and heard Grandpa's tense voice.
"Lance, where are you??"
"I am at the office, Grandpa. Tell me..."
"Your Granny is furious from yesterday that she refused to eat unless you visit her... And you know about her health condition, I am worried about her that she look weak already."
I can't believe Granny is threatening me with her health.
"Grandpa...give the phone to Granny...I will talk to her and solve it.."
"She is not ready to receive your call... You know how stubborn she can be... If something happens to her..." I heard his words get choking.
"Hey don't worry Grandpa...I will be there soon. Tell her that her grandson will not let her be hungry..."
After the call, I informed Assistant Macy to prepare Jet as I know it will be better if I reach there early. Because nobody can beat My Granny's stubbornness. And she is one of the most important people in my life.
I called Dylan in between and informed him that I am going to Melbourne, as My Granny needs me. Dylan had already given the investigation to his friend and he believes the response will receive in one or two days.
At midnight I reached Melbourne. As predicted my Granny was on the hunger strike and looked so weak. Grandpa was sitting near her bed with a worried expression. Looks like he did not eat anything too as these love birds are so in love in these old days too.
"Granny... I am here.." I went to get and took her palm in between my hands.
She looked at me with an annoyed expression and did not talk to me at all.
"Granny... I am sorry that I could not come yesterday... I am sorry but I was very busy at the office."
She looked at me doubtfully and said,
" Lance, if you want to see me in proper health, this time you will listen to me...You know I will only wish for your happiness and I am really sad that you are still single when some of your friends are already married and had children..."
"Granny, I am not that old... I am just twenty-eight alright... And you know how hard I struggled to bring back the lost glory of Hamilton Inc. "
"I know you sacrificed your precious youthful time for the company, that is why I and your grandpa handed over to you instead of your Dad. But, I heard that your stepmom started looking for girls for Josh from reputed families. He is younger than you, so I want you to get married before him..."
"Granny we are not in the race about this matter...You know I will marry only when I feel I am ready and I find the right person..."
"Lance, are you still sulking about your ex GF?? it is in the past, leave it and move on..."
" It's not the matter Granny...Truly I don't feel I am ready for it now...so please..."
"No...Lance, in your matter me and your Grandpa are the responsible ones. And if anything happens to us, you will be left alone...I don't want that...before that, I wanted to see you get married and have children...and."
"Granny, you won't die that easily... give me some more time please."
"Okay..but you will come with us tomorrow to see a girl...we met her at the gala and we are very much impressed. She will be the perfect match for your son... And if you find anything bad about her, we will back off from this proposal."
Finding a fault is easy for me. It is easier to find a fault than convincing Granny to leave me alone.
"Agreed...Now can we have dinner together...??"
I saw her smiling widely like a kid who got a lollipop. And I felt relaxed after that. I called Dylan and told him about the visit tomorrow. He was impressed by my Granny's tactics and told me all the best. Which I don't want, as I am going there only to please Granny so that I will be excused for some more time.
When I lay down in my room, I was still thinking about last night. That girl had been occupied in my mind... She had something special about her which keep on nagging my thoughts... And by the gift, she touched my ego... But I did not throw it away, instead, I kept it in my suitcase. I am not sure why I am going behind her... do I want to take revenge for hurting my ego...??
Or is that just an excuse to see her again...??
