“Do you, Jasmine Tate, agree to unite with Mason Frostbourne, under holy matrimony, in the eyes of his pack, in the presence of his kingdom, under the sanctity of the moon goddess and her blessings. Do you agree, to obey, love, cherish and partner with Mason Frostbourne, to be more a friend, a lover, a queen and an adversary to his dreams and vision as he will be for you.’’
“I do.’’ I smile, I look at Mason.
“And do you, Mason Frostbourne, agree to unite with Jasmine Tate, under the holy matrimony, in the eyes of your pack, in the presence of your kingdom, under the sanctity of the moon goddess and her blessings. Do you agree, to guide, love, cherish and partner with your mate, Jasmine Tate, to be more a friend, a lover, a king and an adversary to her dreams and visions as she will be for you.’’
“I do.’’ Mason’s smile was bright enough to light up the hall.
“By the power gifted to me, by the moon goddess, in honor of the present king and Queen, in the eyes of the pack and the kingdom, I now pronounce you, Husband, and wife!’’
The congregation erupted in cheers and clapping. Mason pulled me by my waist, he smiled, before he kissed me. His kiss, just like before, was sweet and short. It made my stomach tingle. It gave me the good kind of butterflies.
We turned to face everyone. The king and queen walked up to us, smiling. “Son, congratulations.’’ The kind smiled as he patted Mason’s shoulder. The queen came to hug me.
“I told you, believe in yourself and everything comes easy.’’ She whispered as she embraced me. I felt safe, I felt relieved and happy.
I noticed a big line had formed from the crowd. Around a hundred people were looking to greet us.
“Alphas and other respectable members of the council.’’ Mason whispered.
“Thank you for always explaining things even though it seems ridiculous.’’ I looked at him. He smiled.
“Come on, this is a partnership darling.’’
We walked up the long queue. I felt my blood run cold when I saw my sister, standing third in line, holding hands with Alexander, my mate. I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I fought myself not to cry.
“Alpha Jason, good to see you brother.’’ Mason laughed as he greeted him. “This is my wife, Jasmine.’’
“Hi it’s nice to meet you.’’ I stretched to shake his hand but he bowed before me, something I did not expect. An Alpha was buying in front of me?
“Jasmine, Jason and I grew up together. He’s like a brother to me.’’ I smiled at Mason and Jason, he had come alone.
“Shall I expect to see you at the mating ceremony tonight?’’
“Are you kidding, i wouldn’t miss it for the world.’’ Jason laughed, Mason tapped his back. They seemed pretty close.
Jason walked to the king and queen, then the next person stepped forward.
“Alpha Joseph. Luna Lyra.’’ Mason smiled, both the Alpha and Luna bowed their heads, giving their respect. I still wasn’t used to this. I fought the urge to look behind me, wondering who they bowed to.
“ It’s nice to officially meet you, Luna Jasmine.’’ Luna Lyra said to me, with a half smile. I shook my head, wanting to shake her hand but not wanting to embarrass myself.
“It’s nice to meet you too.’’ I smiled. I noticed that the queen's eyes were still on me. She was shaking her head, reassuring and encouraging me. She still had a smile on her face. I felt happy.
The Luna and Alpha stepped away, and the next person in life came to greet us. I maintain a smile.
“Alpha Alexander, and who is this lovely woman?’’ Mason smiled, pointing to Jessy. Jessy’s knees folded as she smiled, Alpha Alexander, bowed, facing Mason and I.
“This is my wife, Jessica Tate.’’ Jessy stepped forward, smiling uneasy.
“It’s nice to officially meet you,’’ She bowed her head again.
“Tate? I guess that’s a common name.’’ Mason cracked the joke, but none of us laughed. There was tension reinging in the air.
“Oh, I’m so happy I almost forgot my darling,’’ Mason turned to me, putting his hand on my lower back. “This is my lovely wife, Jasmine Tate.’’
I smiled at them. “It’s nice to meet you, Alpha Alexander, Luna Jessica.’’
“N..nice to meet you too.’’ The interaction was brief and short, almost felt rushed. I had nothing left to say. A short moment of silence arrested the air around us. I wasn’t staring at Alexander, I was looking at my sister.
“Well, seeing as you’re my favorite Alpha, it’s only fitting I invite you to the mating ceremony tonight.’’ Mason said suddenly, causing all our eyes to shoot up at him. Why?
“Alpha, I believe Alpha Alexander and his Luna look tired already. Maybe they just want some rest.’’
“Yes, exactly.’’ Jessy chimmed in. “We’ve had a long journey.’’
“Oh nonsense.’’ Mason’s tone was playful. “You can rest after. The mating ceremony is important to us and I want people I care about and hold dear to be there.’’
I could tell if he was serious. Mason stretched his hand, and greeted Alexander. He gripped his hand tightly, and he smiled.
“Oh, and because you’re so special for me, I’ll give you a sneak preview of some news my wife and I plan on announcing a month from now.’’
I looked at Mason, sensing where he was going with this and wanting to stop him. Why was he acting like ths.
“My wife is pregnant.’’ He sounded the words with a low tone, but loud enough for Alexander and Jessy to hear. I watched their faces turn pale. I noticed the look of horror as they turned to me, forcing themselves to smile, but clearly, wanting to die inside.
