Kian was not happy at all, the news he had found out had him very upset. His father had decided to act on his behalf and get him a wife. From that moment on, he could no longer return to his life as a womanizer, and that was not all that hurt him, but that his freedom was going to be affected by a stranger. He hated being in that kind of situation. He smacked the desk. "I don't believe it" he spoke. "You’ll have to, sir" commented his right-hand man, Aspen, who was a delta "The girl is coming today, and the engagement will be announced tomorrow. You'll do it yourself." "Did they also make rules regarding disclosure?! This is crazy." "They were direct orders from your mother." "Oh, come on. They just want to control every step I take." "The only thing they want is to help you get the throne and that the citizens of the pack don't judge you" insisted his companion. "Everyone has a different judgment of me, and that's the way it is with every person in the world. I still don't understand why you want to keep a happy face all the time." "With all due respect, I don't feel that the face you show to the public is exactly kind or friendly." "Thank you, Aspen. Always so clear and concise," Kian said with sarcasm, running his hands through his hair. "You know it's true." "I know... What is the name of the famous fiancée? Do I know her?" "No, Lord. I don't know, she is not linked to the powerful families of the pack." "You mean she's a poor nobody?!" "In your opinion, yes." "What's so special about someone like her?" he wanted to know the alpha, quite confused. "They saw something in her that they liked. I can't know everything, Lord." "Those are important details, Aspen." "To you they are." The taller one was red-faced with anger at the boy's comment. "Of course they are. Women are my entire life, remember?" "Not women. Their bodies" commented the opposite, without any remorse. "Wow, I could fire you just for that comment," the taller said. "But you won't. You need me," the clerk replied. "You're right about that". Both left the office located in the large mansion. He had several office spots around the pack, but this was his favorite. No one there told him what to do or how. "Good. I'll have to go enjoy my last single night", the alpha spoke again, meaning that he would go on a woman's hunt. "I don't think that's a good idea," Aspen replied, frowning. "That's enough, it's my life, okay?" The man continued, more stubborn than before. The guy didn't say another word. It was lunchtime, so he had to join his parents and siblings at the table. Despite being in the royal family, they had that habit. It was not something that seemed strange to him, but many important families did not do that kind of thing. “Oh, you did come. I thought for a moment that you wouldn't", Kian's mother released as her first comment. Of course, just because they shared a table didn't mean they were nice to each other or that time was pleasant. They used it to criticize any detail they could. "After such news, no one would want to share a table with you, but my commitment to the pack is bigger than that" Kian snapped. "It shouldn't be any other way," said his father, looking as neutral as every day. That man did not show any emotion. "The pack deserves better, and if I want to change it, I must receive the crown." No one said anything about that. Kian had three brothers, but none of them were his age. He was the oldest. Next to each of them was a company woman. These women displayed their attributes without any shame. They were barely wearing black translucent robes. As part of the royal family, they were allowed to do whatever they wanted, and they, especially, were too much of a womanizer. All the children turned out the same. Only his half-brother named Cain had gone down the path of good. He would be the pastor of the church. "I hope you're ready" his mother mentioned, which is why he immediately got nervous. "Prepared for what?" "You'll see," said the woman, drinking from her wine glass. Kian swallowed hard, he didn't know what to expect. After some sounds, the stage that was towards the back of the dining room where a soundtrack used to be, the curtain opened. Arranged there was a huge cage with golden bars. Inside it, it was not possible to see very well due to the darkness of the place, until a reflector gave light to the object. There was a blindfolded girl in revealing clothes, she was sitting on the ground as if she was lost. "This is your fiancée. Enid Stone", the woman commented with a macabre smile, "she's all yours. She will be the mother of the next Wolfhart heir." The man was nervous, he felt that he was going to go crazy at any moment. "What the hell is this?!" He demanded to know "I can't even eat in peace anymore." "We haven't eaten in peace for years" the father mentioned with the same devilish smile. "Where do you wish to take the girl, sir?" asked one of the service girls. "Wherever, but far from here" the man commented reluctantly, "I don't care". The wolf within him was furious.
