Two Sides of The Moon

9. Full Moon

Levi pov

When my eyes locked with her, my heart started beating uncontrollably. There was something that intrigued me about this girl. I can tell she is not my Mate. But she needs to be important somehow to my wolf or me.

I could not notice the poor state she was in. I'm sure this son of a b***h of Alpha didn't feed her enough. Her face and body were covered in blood and dirt, but even like that, she looked so beautiful! She is like a Goddess. Her dark brown eyes are the gorgeous eyes I have ever seen.

I'm wondering if she can feel this connection. But the way she was looking at me earlier answered my question.

"One of you need to die!" I heard Samuel's voice.

My wolf Shade fought for control. But I couldn't give it to him. I can't let Samuel know that I have my wolf back. Not yet!

"Or maybe it is just you that need to die, Alpha!" Freya said, and she started running towards him.

But before she could reach him, a few guards surrounded her.

"Get out of my way, or I'll kill all of you!"

"Not today b***h!" One of them said, injecting her with wolfsbane. She put her hand on her neck and fell on her knees.

"Tie them both here! They will spend this night outside with no water or food. Make sure their chains are tight enough so they can't sit down or reach each other!" Samuel ordered before disappearing.

"Freya? "I asked, but no answer came. Her head hung down.

It's around 7 pm now. I can tell from my shadow. The sun will go down soon.

Suddenly Freya's body starts shaking violently.

She screams in pain, making Shade, and I want to rip that motherf****r's heart out of his chest.

This is only his fault!

"Freya? Freya, calm down!"

I pull at my chains but to no avail. All I could do was watch her and talk to her.

And this is what I've done for two hours.

Her clothes are bathed in sweat, and I'm sure her wrist are raw from those chains.

"Freya! Listen to my voice!" I said, feeling like need to protect her.

'But why? She is not my Mate!'

Her head lifted, and she opened her eyes.

But she didn't look at me. She was looking up behind me.

Her body stopped shaking, and a growl that made the hair on my neck stand up escaped her.

I looked behind me only to see no one was there, just the Moon that was now in its full beauty.

It was a full Moon.

"Do you hear it, Alpha Black?"

My head snapped in the direction of the sweet but unfamiliar voice. Freya was now looking at me. Her dark brown eyes were no longer brown. They were blue. A blue so light that you might think is silver, as a piece of the Moon was. This wasn't Freya; it was her wolf.

"Hear what exactly?"

All I could hear was the animals from the nearby forest and some drunken rogues.

"The Moon, Alpha Black! The Moon it's calling to us! It's so beautiful! "

'Ok...so maybe they drugged her. Or maybe there was too much wolfsbane, and she has a new adverse reaction.'

"I'm sorry, Freya, but I can't hear it? And please call me Levi. What's your name?"

"I'm Lia!"

"Lia! Well is nice to meet you, Lia!"

"Let him out, Levi! Let Shade take control! It's been a while since I last spoke to another wolf!"

Shade was jumping in excitement. He had been trying to take control for a while now. I step back in my mind and let him out.

"Hello, Lia!" He said in a deep voice. I knew that my eyes should be golden now.

"Shade! I'm so glad that you are here, even if it is not the best place for me to meet another wolf. I was lonely for so much time."

"Yes, Lia! It's me, Shade! Thanks for convincing my stubborn human to let me out! I was suffocating in there!

"I know how that feel. Better than anyone." She said in a sad voice.

"I need your help, Shade! Freya...she is in so much pain! She has suffered too much. I need to take her out of here! But I'm afraid!"

"Afraid? Afraid of what?"

"Afraid that I will lose her! There is something else here with us! Something that wants Freya! And it is so strong! I'm not sure if I can help her this time."

"What is it? Tell me! Maybe I can help you!"

"I don't know exactly! It's like it's a part of her. A piece that was hidden so well that even I couldn't sense it before. But now I do! Please promise me you'll protect her if anything happens to me!"

I look at her, confused. There is an Alpha who wants me to kill her and a wolf who ask me to protect her.

"Why do I feel the need to protect her?" I ask, taking control back. "We are not mates!"

"No, Levi, we are not! And unfortunately, I can not answer your question. But I am sure we will find out when the time comes."

"Ok, then! I will see what I can do!" I said after a few minutes of silence.

She nodded and closed her eyes.

When she opened them again, dark brown like melting chocolate hypnotised me. I couldn't look away.

"Alpha Black? Are you ok?"

I clear my throat and blink several times to break the spell.

"Mmm...yeah...I mean, look at us! What can be better than this? And please call me Levi! I'm Levi Black." I said with a soft smile.

"Oh, ok! I'm Freya! Freya Wolfe! As for our situation, what do you say? Are you planning to kill me?" She asks amusingly.

"Well, I was. But your wolf asked me not to. So... it seems like we need to find a way out of here."

She opened her mouth to say something, but Samuel's voice interrupted her.

"How are you doing? Did you find out if you are Mates already?" He asks with a smirk on his face.

"F**k you, you bastard!" Freya shouts, aspiring at him.

"I bet you will want that, Freya! But for now, I can not offer you that pleasure. Bring the silver cages! They do not seem to be weak enough!"

He ordered his men and left.
