Chapter 14Conri asked Lev to leave. He was better off working in his office than hanging around getting slaughtered by shifters or getting heart failures from being too close to Nick.
He asked Jared to go to Cellica’s and wait for Hilda. Then he carried Nick up to the apartment. He blew out a sigh of relief at finding it intact and free of unwanted visitors.
Putting Nick on the bed, he rushed into the bathroom to grab a couple of towels. When he got back, he gently shook Nick’s uninjured shoulder. “Nick?”
When there was no reaction, he debated risking removing his shirt. He wanted a look at the scratches. Lion claws could do a lot of damage. Grinding his teeth, he went to grab some scissors in the kitchen.
