The Love She lost

Flashback; Aries is sitting at the dinner table with her mom and dad when there is a loud noise from outside. Her mom takes her to the bookshelf where the safe room is “I'll be back I’m going to get the others children.” Aries mom tells her before kissing her and shutting the door. Moments later her mom returns with injuries but brings back Chrissy her dad’s betas daughter and shuts the door again reassuring the girls that she’ll be back. Hours seem to have passed and no one comes. Both of them have cried their selves to sleep. But are woken up to a loud banging on the shelf outside. The girls cover their mouths to not let out a sound. Anyone from the pack know how to enter the room. They knew not to open the door. They had coward back into the back corner in fear. Suddenly the doors are ripped away like magic. “Which one of you brats are Aries?” a strange man had bellowed. Before Aries could say anything Chrissy stood up saying she was Aries. The man had yanked her away from Aries arms as she cried and pleaded for Chrissy. He took his sword and swung for Chrissys’ neck. Dream ends. Aries wakes up covered in swear before she replays Chrissys’ death. Looking around the room, I’m on my mat in the omega dorm at Blood Moon. Covered in sweat I take what most would consider a rag but it’s my towel and dry myself off to the best of my abilities. I change into my spare clothes so I don’t sleep in wet ones and flip my mat over. I lay back down staring at the ceiling. Chrissy had assumed my identity, so that no harm would come to me. So I had assumed hers. I was no longer Aries Blackborne, but Chrissy Martinez. The elders had arrived after the damage was done and brought me to Blood Moon the closet pack, thinking I’d be in good hands. I was 8 when it happened. I vaguely remember the elder who brought me her had told Alpha Ben what happened. Elder Fred looking at me “Chrissy you’ll be safe here. I have to go now to help with cleaning up the mess, but I’ll be back to check on you.” He never came back, just like my parents. I had no one for help during my childhood and teen years while Alpha Ben and his son Damian beat me. Luna Claire and their daughter Enola just laughed and would blame everything on me. None of them deserve their titles. And I will get my revenge on them. I will have their titles stripped from them. But I have to play nicely for now. Especially since the Moon Goddess damned me without a wolf. So I heal like a human. And they know that. But I promise I will get what I deserve and so will they. This thought makes a small smile form at the corners of my mouth. I am not evil or mean. I just don’t believe that people like the Smiths deserve any type of power. Everyone fears them including the betas family. No one dares to say a word to them, about them or even go to the elders for fear that they’ll be killed. Who treats their pack like that? I’ll tell you who, Alpha Ben Smith. Two years after I got here everything went south and that’s when the abuse towards me got worse. I took the abuse so long that at 17 I began plotting my revenge and escape, originally planned to leave on my 18th birthday when I thought I’d get my wolf like others did. But I never got one. So I pushed back me leaving. I plan on leaving the night of the Mating Ball. Luna Claire gets to hold it this year and like every year I was told I am not allowed going. Which works out perfectly for me. Because that’s when I will leave. I’ll make my escape than. I lay on my mat until the other omegas wake up. Louise my closet friend here walks over to me “Another nightmare” she asks me and I shake my head. When the nightmares first started she had helped me through them, reassuring me that they were only dreams and nothing more. She held me at night when I would be inconsolable, trying to help keep me calm so Alpha Ben wouldn’t hear me and beat me for waking him. She is only 3 years older than I am. But she’s me better than any here, almost like we are sisters. Her mother had died when she was 5 and a few years later her died had given up from losing his mate and sadly died too from a broken heart. After Louise had walked away to put her uniform on I stood up and grabbed mine. Putting on the gray plain dress and tying my hair into a bun I headed to the door. One by one we all walked down the spiral staircase that led to and from the omega dorms and into the kitchen. We all stood in the kitchen waiting for Wilfred the head omega to give us our duties for the day. I usually got stuck with cleaning the Alpha and Beta floor. Which included their kids rooms. And then cleaning the bathrooms of the entire pack house. Once done with those I would prepare dinner and my shift was done. Everyone else however would be assigned different job duties daily. Not me, I think that was due to Alpha Ben. Mainly because we are not to interact with the Alpha and his family or the Beta and his family and Damian and Enola always made it a fact to be in rooms I was in. No matter what I did to try and avoid them at all costs they would manage to be around me and go to Alpha Ben as if I did something wrong, just to get me in trouble.
