Fast forward a year;

During the last year I apprenticed under Doctor Lopez. Gain my certificate to become a Nurse Practioner. The Mating Ball is tonight, which Luna Claire gets to hold again because the last one was better than others. But like usual I’m banned from going. This time being told “After Damian rejected you, IF you have a second chance mate he wouldn’t want you.” From the rumors I’ve heard the Alpha King is actually coming to this one. No one knows who he is, they say he lost his first love at a young age and refused any Mating Ball or to been seen again, but after his father’s death he took power and now has to go to them to find his mate.

I don’t care to go either, so I feel for him. But tonight might be my time to escape. Even if Doctor Lopez became family to me I will still get revenge against this pack. Sparing few but most of this pack has been the reason I suffered all my life here. I am on call today as the office isn’t really open except for emergencies. So I spend my time in my room packing. Sitting at my desk I write Doctor Lopez a letter. Thanking her for her hospitality, caring and loving me and giving me a chance to become something more than an ‘omega’ letting her know who I really was and where I came from. And why I was leaving and so on. Once I finished it I put it in an envelope and wrote her name on it.

It is eight pm and by now the Mating Ball should have started. I’m sitting outside drinking a cup of coffee on the porch minding my business when suddenly there was a handsome man standing in front of me a few people following him and him saying “Mine!” This is great I’m going to be accused of ruining the ball now. But when the words escape his mouth the people that were around gasped. And I’m sitting there all confused. And that’s when I seen her. Enola storming towards me with Alpha Ben in toe, both red with anger.

“YOU f*****g b***h HOW DARE YOU!” Enola screams at me the man turning towards her direction. “Dustin I am so sorry she shouldn’t have disrupted you!” Alpha Ben says. Wait did he say Dustin? My heart almost skips a beat. “You will be punished later Chrissy. Dustin let’s go back inside Enola has waited for you all night.” Alpha Ben says trying to push Dustin back inside.

“HOW DARE YOU TRY TO TAKE DUSTIN FROM ME!” Enola adds before wrapping her arm around Dustins. At this point he hasn’t really said anything but stood in front of me until Enolas words came out. They were almost like snake venom to him. “Again I am not yours! This is a Mating Ball where we find our fated mates which I was dreading to come to since it was held here. As soon as I arrived I had told Enola she wasn’t my mate, but someone else who was here. Which she had tried to keep me from finding. I came here to only realize my mate, Chrissy, the whole reason I was banned from here until I was of age is my mate! Ben, Enola we’ll handle this now!” he roars deeply his aura so powerful that even Alpha Ben lowers himself. “Let’s go to your office Ben.” He tells them as he picks me up and carries me with him. Everyone gasping again.

Great now I’m going to be carried around like a rag doll. “Can you at least allow me to walk? You do know I can walk right?” I whisper to him he snorts “I do, but you’re safer if I carry you.” He says. I roll my eyes pushing my elbow into his ribs “And I wish to walk!” he laughs again not releasing me. Everyone is staring as Dustin is following Alpha Ben and Enola while I’m being carried. I’m so embarrassed that my face goes red as a tomato and I’m trying to make myself smaller.

We walk past Damian and Luna Claire as we go up the stairs towards Alpha Ben’s office. Damian staring daggers into me as Claire follows us demanding to know what’s going on. And “Alpha King Dustin, this is my pack you were welcomed to as a guest and I demand to know what it is going on right now!” she yells at him. Alpha King? Huh? Is Dustin really.. no he can’t be. Broken from my thoughts as he stops “And as Alpha King you have no rights to demand anything from me right this second or ever! You will find out soon enough.” He roars at her. The look on her face was priceless and I let out a small laugh. “And what’s so funny little one?” he whispers in my ear. “Her face, I’ve dreamed of doing that.” I reply he laughs. Soon enough we’re in Alpha Ben’s office.

Alpha Ben sitting in his chair, Enola standing next to him, Dustin sitting in the desk in front of his Alpha Ben with me in his lap. Ben and Enola starring daggers at me. "I will not be disrespected by your family ever again. I never told you who I was exactly so I'd be treated like anyone else here. No one knew who I was. not because of shame but because I wanted treated like anyone else. To be able to see others true selves. Ben I will be taking Chrissy with me, no ifs, ands or buts about it. No fighting, she's coming with me!" he basically demands Alpha Ben.

"She's a worthless omega you need a strong Luna, Dustin. Enola could be that for you and your father would be proud!" Alpha Ben rebuttals.

Dustin sets me down for once and jumps over Alpha Ben's desk grabbing him by the throat.
