The words fall out of my lips before I can stop them and however foreign they may feel on my tongue, I know that she needs to hear them from me.
Serena looks at me like she wants to believe me, her tear filled eyes watch me with such anguish that I want to know everything bad that has ever happened to her and make sure to heal all of those wounds that I cannot even see-- a thought that not only terrifies me but at the same time, feels more right than anything else in the world.
