|Serena's POV| The scent of cologne fills the air, thick and suffocating. My throat closes as the man leans closer, his breath hot against my ear. "Happiest 15th birthday, dearest wren..." His voice is like sandpaper, grating against my nerves as the cold tip of his fingers brushes the hem of my dress. I try to scream, but the hand clamping down on my mouth silences me before any sound can escape. Fear surges through me, a panic so deep I feel my insides twist. My eyes snap open in terror, locking onto the face that haunts my memories—the same sinister smile, the same eyes filled with cruelty and madness. Donovan. His grip tightens, and my body goes stiff, the dark shadows of my past enveloping me. I can't breathe. I can't move. He's here again, and there's nothing I can do to stop him
