Calista  Glancing around to ensure that no prying eyes watched my every move, I steeled myself with a deep breath and pushed open the heavy wooden door. The scent of old books and dust greeted me like an old friend, wrapping around me like a comforting embrace as I stepped inside. As I walked inside, the book in the library loomed invitingly on the corner, its familiar facade beckoning me with the promise of opportunity. The decision to enter was fraught with uncertainty, my mother's disapproval lingering like a shadow over my mind. But the pull of a job, some sort of freedom, and that too at a library was too strong to resist. The library was quiet, the only sound was the soft rustle of pages and the occasional murmur of conversation from readers echoes through the walls. I hesitated
