The After Shock

Eva walked to her school quietly, her mind occupied in thoughts. When she reached her campus, she headed straight to her locker and got out her eng literature for her first class and made way to her class through the busy corridor. She was about to enter when two hands covered her eyes suddenly. Eva was taken aback startled as she hadn't been able to get over her dream but relaxed once she heard the familiar soft giggle and a "tell me who I am" from behind her. "Lizzy you do this everyday" said Eva with a giggle of her own.

Elizabeth also know as Lizzy was a sweet girl with dark brown hair and greenish eyes. She was also one of Eva's best friend. So they entered their class after they shared a laugh together. Eva went to her seat in the back of the classroom near the window. She loved the view of the playground from there. She was occupied in her thoughts about the dream when suddenly she was pulled back to reality with a light tab on her shoulder. She looked up to see Zachary, her only other best friend giving her a look that said " are you alright?".Eva always wondered how he was able to know if she was troubled. She give a small smile and shook her head letting him know that she was fine.

She had met Lizzy and Zachary 12 years years ago when she had just moved into that city. She was a new kid but Lizzy and Zachary made her feel at home. They were a couple for the past three years and have loved each other unconditionally. Eva loved these two people the most in her life.

Zachary looked at her worried and then went to his seat. Eva thought" did I look that troubled". Once Mrs. Loren had (her eng teacher)started teaching, Eva found herself a distraction.

The class went on as usual and sooner than she knew, it was time to go home. She took the usual route that went near a park and through a alleyway. She was walking near the park when she heard the scream of a child. It took a moment for her to catch a breath and respond. When she turned around, she saw a child crying with a broken toy in his hand. So she went toward the little boy trying to console him. But she was suddenly pushed away by a women glaring at her. The child ran toward the lady who stood glaring at Eva. So she stood up and walked away as she thought to herself " that was awkward and rude" when the lady kept staring at her with an unnerving look.

She still had an unsettling feeling, like as if she were being followed. She had gotten this since that day at the park and now it had been two days since. She was cautious and seemed to be reserved for the past days. Her friends were worried about her but she just never told them what was troubling her.

Eva couldn't sleep well at night, she kept hearing noise and felt herself being cornered by her fear. She wanted to be her normal self and just forget about the dream and to get rid of the uneasy feelings she had but it just seemed to not go away.....
