I'm in for a treat

She hadn't gone to her school for two days now. She just told her aunt that she wasn't feeling well and had taken sick leave. Lizzy and Zachary kept calling and checking on her. They were so worried and Eva knew that but what could she do, she couldn't just go tell them everything and what about her face? No, she couldn't go in front of them with that scar. She had asked Lizzy to tell Josh that she was sorry and that her answer was no.

Eva was sad, she could no longer have a future with Josh, he must be hating her now, she thought. But it was for the best, this way Josh wouldn't be involved in her problems and it was much safer for everyone around her if they didn't know what she was going through right? well....she HERSELF didn't know what she was going through, she thought. She had been thinking for a long time, she had no appetite, all she could feel was the emptiness inside her and fear for what might come next.

Her aunt had asked her about the bandage on her face and Eva had lied that she had slipped in the shower and hurt her face. She hadn't gotten out of her room since then. She kept wondering who that mask man was, was she supposed to know him? what did he mean by saying that he had missed her? All that Eva was sure of, was that it was all crazy and that maybe she was in for a treat.

She got out of her room and went downstairs to find it empty again ( being a nurse really keeps her aunt away from home). She went into the kitchen and got a leftover pizza and headed to the sofa in the main hall. She turned on the TV and watched it while eating. She hadn't heard the doorbell or anything, but then suddenly her door was swung open and she found Lizzy , Zachary and Josh standing there. Eva sat staring at them when Lizzy had made her way towards her. She gave a shocked gasp when she saw Eva's face. And all of a sudden Eva was grabbed by her shoulder and heard Lizzy asking why she had a huge bandage on her face. Eva just sat staring until she was composed and she knew she had to give an answer, maybe not exactly the truth but had to make sure at hiding the lie. She spoke softly " I slipped in the shower. But the most important thing is WHY the hell are you guys here?". This time Zachary had stepped forward followed by Josh behind him. He said that they were worried about her and Josh had insisted on coming too. " I mean...how long were you gonna stay home and not tell us what happened?" Zachary said ..well more like half shouted. Eva didn't know how to react..what could she possibly say..that she was haunted by a masked dude and he gave her that beautiful cut on the face?( author : you must be crazy as I am if that's what you thought) She just kept quiet and made sure that her expression was blank. Then after what seemed like hours and when she couldn't tolerate their staring anymore, she slowly opened her mouth and said " You guys didn't have to worry this much. I already told you guys that I was just not feeling well and that I'd be back to school soon..." Lizzy was already pissed that Eva hid such a huge deal with a 'I'm not feeling well' sentence. And she also knew that no matter how much she asked, Eva would only give her the same excuse, so she did not persist asking and changed the subject and for that she got looks from Zachary and Josh and relieved sign from Eva.

Lizzy went into the kitchen to get herself and the guys some leftover pizza while they were watching TV. When she came back, Eva noticed that she was also holding a piece of paper. 'umm.. I didn't notice aunt's note, I guess' she thought to herself and was about to ask her what it said when Lizzy asked her the same.

Eva took the note from Lizzy and read the words that she dreaded,that she should have seen coming. " I'm coming soon... let's have fun with KINVES and BLOOD...?". Oh GOD, I'm really in for a treat,she thought aloud.
