Chapter 7
Into the Horde
Night had fallen some time ago, but Mitra had difficulty remembering when. She and Haris had walked on for a little while longer only to discover they had walked in a circle…again. They came across one of the small storage shacks at the edge of the canal and had practically fallen inside. She couldn’t remember how long ago that was. She had been in and out of it since then. Her eyes would close and when she opened them, she would have no idea how much time had passed. Had they been here days? Weeks? Months? It couldn’t have been that long because you couldn’t survive more than a few days without water. At least humans couldn’t.
