Chapter 5 - Dashed Hope

1062 Words
"What are you talking about?" Alora asked, holding her belly tightly as she stared at the heartbreaking scene before her, a scene that wouldn't stop replaying itself. "Don't mind him, Alora, Ryan isn't good at expressing himself when he talks, especially when the thing has been on his mind for a while, but I'm here to help you," Sophia said, smiling. "What this young man is trying to tell you is that you were nothing but my replacement." You know you happened by chance, and this marriage was meant to be a punishment for getting on his nerves. Now that he has satisfied himself and now that I'm back, it's time for you to leave and never return." "What is something going on, Ryan? What is she saying, and why are you even quiet? What is she talking about?" Exactly what I would have said, I have nothing to do with you, and the truth is that I don't even know who you were to start with, but this is just my way of making you pay for almost ruining my relationship, which just got mended, as you can see." He strolled towards Sophia again, staring at her with warmth, something she had never seen. You can't do this to me, Ryan, you are the only one I know, I have no one else to turn to, and all of this...I just don't understand why it is." News flash! This guy here doesn't give a darn about that, you can end up in the street for all I care, but not here."He said, making her eyes widen as she tried to process his last words. What is that supposed to mean? It means I want you out of my house for good. Leave my house while I'm still being nice to you. "Leave where?" It's my house, my mansion, so get yourself off my property and never return!" Ryan yelled, getting up in just his boxers. Get out of here." He said, dragging her out of the room ruthlessly, not caring a bit about the tears rolling down her face. What's going on? Lisa asked, walking out with an apron tied around her neck. Take this thing and get out of my house." He said, pushing her towards Lisa, who was quick enough to hold her before she could fall. Before they could both recover from the shock, they were bounced out by his huge bodyguard. Left alone in the heavy rain with nowhere to go, they both roamed around the street barefoot. Do you have anywhere to go? Lisa asked for the umpteenth time, but was greeted with the same silence. Yes, she wouldn't watch me suffer with her grandchild in my womb. Alora suddenly said, Who are you talking about?" Lisa asked, she ignored her and boarded a cab instead of giving directions to her in-laws' house. "Alora, where are we? Do you think his parents would accept you when he rejected you himself?" Lisa asked her to join her to hit the gate, it finally opened after minutes of knocking, and they were staring directly at the woman, Ryan's mother. She had an umbrella on her head held by one of the guards while she remained at the doorpost. I should have known it's a nobody like you, it's only people like you that knock like that." Anyways, why are you here? Get straight to the point." She ignored the cold voice and closed her eyes at the obvious; she held onto her hand desperately like she was her last hope, which she was indeed. Mom, Ryan sent me out of the house. He brought a woman home and has been saying things I don't... First of all, young lady, I'm not your mother and I can never be, I will never mother a miserable being like you, and if my son asked you to get yourself out of his house, why are you here?" she asked with her hands akimbo. He can't do that to me, Mom, I'm his wife and... Her hand was on her belly as she stared back at the woman. "I'm carrying his child, your grandchild. I have no business with that. I was never in support of you two being together in the first place, so I have no business with the child you are carrying. My son is a hot cake, and I will never let a nobody like you ruin him. Have this! She stretched an envelope out to her, but her hands remained by her side. This would be enough for you to get that pest out of your belly, and this is a cue to get yourself back to the hell you came from." She threw the envelope in the air after observing her reluctance, making the money fly in every direction. You can't do this, ma'am, this is your grandchild we are talking about, even if you don't like her, you should consider the innocent soul," Lisa said, making her stop on her track. I will never have my grandchild come out of a beggar, get your miserable selves out of here or I ask them to assist you out of here." She said turning the book to the mansion. We should go Alora." She said taking her hand. I have nowhere to go, no family to help, you should leave, I will just remain here till she reconsiders. She would never do that, brace yourself up, accept this bitter reality, and help yourself and your unborn baby! No, this is absurd, Ryan must be kidding. I'll go back instead; I'll remain outside till he reconsiders. She suddenly said making Lisa turn quickly to stare at her. He only said all that 'cause he doesn't know about his baby, our baby, he would be happy about it, I know that. Before Lisa could counter her words and bring her out of her dark dreams, she was already on the road without looking in her mind was set on being with that man she saw after a long time in a coma, and protecting her child, her new essence of living, but it was cut right in as she stumbled across the road, once again, she had been hit on a rainy day, and at night still in pajamas, her hope of loving was leaving right before her eyes...
