Chapter 1- The Accident
Despite looking dirty and tattered, she looked lost. She walked down the road barefoot, and people who saw her gossiped. It was raining heavily, but it seemed like the rain wasn't touching her skin; all she had on her delicate body was her nightie, an uncommon one that depicted wealth. Was she mad, or was she on drugs? People who saw her asked, but there was no one to answer; everyone was afraid to approach her. Men who saw her couldn't look away; her beauty was like a light even in the dirtiness of her skin and clothes. She kept moving carelessly like she owned the road, and before anyone could react, she was already on the tilted road. The onlookers stretched out their hands, hoping they would be able to save her from the car approaching at high speed. The car got just a little closer, they concluded that she was dead, there's no way she would survive the hit, and just like that, the once lousy road fell into silence, all that could be heard was the rain hitting the ground. Everyone stared at her lifeless body on the floor. She was lying on the floor in a pool of her blood, finally, her already bleeding foot finally rested. The driver of the car came down from his car immediately, staring at the scene before him, the mess he had created. The back door soon opened and the once quiet onlookers started whispering among each other, most were with their phones taking the pictures of the new identify among them. "Put her in the car and make sure this doesn't get out?" He instructed, his voice cold and his look was even colder as he turned to leave. "Yes, sir." The driver hurriedly said, picking up the body. The floor. "How could you be so careless?" Ryan asked pacing around endlessly; it was a private section of the hospital so it was free from the stares of fans. The few minutes they spent coming to the hospital were enough for the news to go viral, and now his reputation is at stake. People are beginning to wonder why a celebrity is driving at such a high speed. He kept staring at his watch impatiently as he paced around, he should be having a special moment with his bride to be but here he was worried about some other woman. "Oh goodness! What happened, Ryan? We came here as soon as we heard the news?" His mother said with a worried expression. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" "Is that the right question to ask your son who just hit an innocent woman?" His father snapped. "Oh, come on, honey, I'm sure the girl was being careless or maybe crazy, she was in her nighties outside on the street with a nightie! Who in their right senses would do that? Her carelessness caused this; my son had no hand in this. She defended rolling her eyes. "You will have to explain that to the public not me, your recklessness ,the same one I have always warned you about brought you here and if this gets even more worse than it already is, I will not be a part of it." "Honey! Are you going to leave your son because of a simple mistake? " "How can you call a person's life a mistake, if he had remained at my place like I had instructed, would this have happened to him?" Mrs Brooklyn remained quiet. By the question, she had been cornered, and her son didn’t seem interested. "You should explain to your father, Ryan, what happened, stop staring at your watch." She snapped. "What do you mean by I should stop mom, I have other things to meet up with and this happening right now is the least of my problem put together." "I never asked her to be so reckless that she would play on the road, it's a road where vehicles pass, it's not my fault she is close to death." His response was sharp, and he looked rather too comfortable and less concerned by the whole thing. "Let's put that aside Mom, since you both are here, I know you would see to it that everything goes well, I need to rush somewhere." "You are going nowhere, young man, you should stay here and fix this, fix this, fix the little problem you have created, you fool." His father snapped. "You have never helped matters for me, Dad, and I wish you could just stay away for tonight and act like you don't see any of this. "The moment I stayed away from what has to do with you, just take a look at where we are, we are in a hospital right now so young man, the only thing I have to say to you is respect yourself, you know I can be as hot and cold as you are as well." He warned sternly. For the next hour, they all sat quietly, but Ryan chose to pace, his eyes never leaving his wristwatch and phone's screen, and just like that, the screen was like he was expecting something from it. And just like the screen turned on all by itself. A message popped in, and he anxiously tapped on the inbox he had just received. The thumping in his heart was almost heard by everyone in the waiting room as he read the most heartbreaking message:
