"How is the girl now?" Dad asked as the doctor walked out with a smile. "She's very fine now, sir, and after a few days here with us, she would be fit to go home.""Oh, that's good news." He heaved a sigh of relief before staring back at me. "You are quite lucky young man."He said staring at me, my mom simply rolled her eyes at his comment. "One more thing, sir." The doctor said, making us all stare at him to hear what he had to say, the smile on my father's face died down, and the whole place fell into silence. "She has no memory of her past, not even her name; she is more or less like a newborn baby with the body of an adult; she does not know anything. "Does that mean she would never remember anything now that she is awake, and does it mean she would never remember anything from her past?" I asked curiously. "We have no idea how long her amnesia would last, but there are possibilities that she might slowly remember as she gradually gets settled back into the world, and we have seen worse cases of patient who never got their memories back." He explained. I walked into the ward to see her now seated, looking around like a newborn baby, just like the doctor said. She has the looks, I must commend her for that. Her eyes were gaping at me as I approached her with a smile. "Are you okay?" I asked calmly, my step was slow, and my brows were up like a worried man. "Are you my brother? Or a family?" she asked loudly, her voice quite audible for someone who just came back from the dead, someone I almost killed. "No, my love, I have been so worried about you," I said, hugging her to myself. Well,l I'm also surprised with this, but I know I have something to mind. "I am not your brother, Alora, I am your fiancé, your husband-to-be," I said with conviction. "Really?" She asked. "Yes, I got you this necklace for our anniversary. I had your name customized on it." I wouldn't have known if not for this necklace hanging on her neck, but I guess it's her name. "Wow," she suddenly looked around and her gaze stopped at my bed and wardrobe. "I was here with you throughout the time you were in a coma. I had to move here to be sure that you were well taken care of by the doctors, and now that you are awake, I'm just so happy." I said with a smile. "Thanks for staying by my side, but I can't remember anything from my past, and I don't think I remember you as well, and I'm sorry about that, cause I wish I could remember the good times we spent together." She said calmly, like she wasn't trying to hurt me. "I know right, I understand what it feels like, and you don't have to be sorry cause this wasn't what either of us saw coming before us, we were so in love and you were into me so much, but don't worry, I'm ready to do anything I can to make sure you regain everything that was lost but that would be after our wedding," I Said bringing out the ring. The same one I intended to give to the love of my life, Sophia, but now, I want to put it in her fingers. Without waiting for her response, I shoved the ring onto her finger while she stared at me. "Don't you think we should take things slowly first?" "We have chosen a date already ,and we shouldn't let people down, and we love each other so there's no need to actually hold back anything." "What's going on young man, you dashed in without us." Dad said walking in with mom behind him. "Those are my parent, we should announce our marriage to them, this is something you have always wanted," I whispered into her ear, making my mom's brows raise. "I was just too anxious, Dad, you can't blame me for doing that. I flashed a smile to Father, who was taking aback. "What's going on here, Ryan?" He asked, "It's nothing dad, we are just making up for the moments we have lost together?" I said . "I still don't understand all of this, do you?" He asked turning to his wife, who looked as confused as he was. "Good day, mom and Dad?" Alora said, making me smile, she is an intelligent one. "Mom and Dad? What is she talking about, and what is that on her fingers?" Mom asked, looking shocked, but I only smiled. "Hello, dear. I would like to have a word with him," Dad said, dragging me out. "You can let me go now, it's just us here!" I said, snatching my hand from his. "It's exactly what you saw, I want to get married to her, I already proposed, and her finger is evidence that she has accepted me, all I need is your blessing." "How can you talk about marriage to someone you don't even know, Ryan? What exactly are you up to?" He asked. "Nothing very serious, dad all I want is to finally get married, just like you have always wanted ,so why are you both surprised now that I have made the decision?" "We said get married, but we never said to an unknown girl suffering from amnesia, someone you don't even know from Adams." Mom said. "I don't have to know her, she is my choice, dear parents and dad, I expect you, of all, to accept us and give us your blessing?" "Also, I don't want the whole thing to be the talk of the town yet. I will make it official as soon as she is physically and mentally stable, but let it be a simple wedding for now?" "And as for the public, they should know that the girl I hit is perfectly fine and fairing well while I take care of her, that will be all for now?" "Thanks for your blessings in advance."
