Chapter 4- The Bitter Truth

1014 Words
I have been married to the most mischievous man ever. We got married the moment I was discharged from the hospital. The whole thing was rushed, but it didn't look like it. I discovered my husband is an actor, and I was made to appear in public as an accident victim who got married to him. I was told that it would do me a lot of good, and the whole public seemed so pleased with that. All of that was three months ago, and he has not been home ever since then. I don't know if I should be worried or not. I just feel like I don't belong in this world, and I think it's thanks to my memories. I just hope they return soon. But this boredom is something I don't think I can get used to, but then I'm still so lucky to get myself a maid, a new form of friendship; she is the only one who keeps me company here, and Ryan isn't against it as well. The door opened almost immediately, and a smile found its way to my lips, thinking it was Lisa; I turned around only to see Ryan staring at me. There was a lady behind him, looking sassy, and her eyes were all over the place. "Hey," I walked towards him, opening my arms for a hug. His hands remained in his pocket, but I hugged him still. he is my husband, and yes, I have missed him a lot. "Are you okay?" He finally asked, holding my hand, his face was void of emotions, and I couldn't even have an idea of what was going on in his head. "Yeah, how is work, and who is this?" I asked, staring at the lady still smiling, This is finally an opportunity to break the news to him. I have refrained from telling him over the phone all this while, and now that he is here, I can't wait to tell him, but the lady is making me feel uneasy. "Oh hi, I'm his sister actually, and you must be ..." she trailed, waiting for me to say my name. "Alora." I finally said after giving it a little thought, and Lisa came in just in time with a grocery bag in hand. "You're finally back!" I said as she squeezed her way in. "Well, I'm and I can see you have guests for the first time?" She shrugged, waiting for an introduction. "Yeah, here is my husband, Ryan, and this is... his sister." I pointed to the lady who was still smiling. "I'll show her off to her room," Ryan said, shrugging me aside, he took the girl's hand and together they went up the stairs.. "I don't like that girl and there's this look on your husband’s face that I don't like as well," Lisa said as we walked to the kitchen. "There's something about them that looks suspicious." "You should be glad that you met a celebrity, but what's this you are saying?" Confusion was written all over her, considering this was the first time she had heard such a thing about her man. "The celebrity didn't quite turn out the way I wanted him to be, and I need you to be careful as well, don't trust too much." "I don't know what you're talking about, but don't forget he's the father of my unborn child and my husband, so I trust him. Let's fix the father of my unborn baby something to eat, I'm sure he's very hungry". "If you say so, but don't say I didn't warn you, I have a bad feeling about them..." "I will break the news to him as soon as he has eaten., I'm sure he would be very happy about this!" I said, instead of cutting the words from her mouth. Ryan's POV "She's quite naive, just like you said," Sophia said, smiling at me. "I know, why night, she is such a fool." "How do you intend on telling her about us, the whole marriage thing, and how exactly do I take back my place from a sick girl?" "You caused all of this, Sophia. If only you had listened to me back then, I wouldn't be in this mess of a marriage." "You delayed me, Ryan and I have every reason to be mad at you, I broke it off, but I didn't mean it, and I'm back now." "I got married to her as a punishment for delaying me that day, and breaking it off wouldn't be a problem; I have no feelings for her except hate and anger, and since my first love is back, she has to leave for you." "I trust you on that, brother". She teased. "Oh, don't even start, we are far from that, and tonight is to show you how much I have missed your touch on my body." "I can't wait to get down to business with you. Let's start now and see who the winner will be," She teased. In the next minute, we were both battling with our lips like they were the only ones in the world. This is something I have been looking up for a month, and I just can't hold myself back. "What's going on here?" I heard the little voice that wasn't on the verge of tears. "What does it look like?" I asked nonchalantly. "How can you do this to your sister?" "From the look of things, I guess you will forever remain stupid. "Let's get this fact straight: there’s nothing to hide anymore." "Sophia isn't my sister, this woman here is my first and only love?" "No, that's not possible. "What about me? "You said we loved each other, that's what you said." "You are no one, you mean absolutely nothing to me. You are just someone who came into my life at the wrong time, and I got married to you to punish you for causing a rift between my wife to me." "The ring in your finger isn't meant for you..."
