Ryan's POV
This was supposed to be a special night for me, but it ended up being a horrible nightmare me. I slowly put my hand into my pocket once again and brought out the ring I would have used to propose to my childhood lover, my very first love, the only person I have come to love so dearly. The door of the theater finally opened after hours, after wasting my precious time on something completely useless.
"How to the girl?" Dad was the first person to ask, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the way he cared for a stranger. If I were the one, I know well that he wouldn't even care about me at all "Well, luckily, sir, we were able to keep her out of danger, but she is in a coma as we speak, and I don't know when she will be up, but we hope it will be soon; every other examination would be conducted when she is awake." He said with a faint smile
"Thanks for your hard work, doctor."
"Yes sir, you can actually get to see her when she is moved to a ward." He quickly added before turning to leave. I picked up my suit jacket hurriedly and made to leave, but stopped at the pain in my legs. "What is that for dad?" I asked glaring at him with the walking stick he used on me.
"Where do you think you are going? "
*I said it a few hours ago that I had somewhere I needed to be, and that's exactly where I'm going. The doctor said she is fine, so that means I can leave and be wherever I want to."
"What if the girl is dead by now?" He asked, That's the simplest question.
That would have been the easiest thing. I mean, if she were to die, she would have done that sooner, but she delayed me till now, and this had to happen to me. "Get his phones for me!" He instructed his bouncer, who walked up to me like a giant. "There's no way you are going to take that from me?" I said with an unbelievable scoff till the phone was collected.
"Now listen to what I have to say attentively."
"You aren't coming home until that girl is awake. Let me break it down to you, because you have proven to be very stupid." "You will remain here in this hospital, taking special care of that girl until she is fully awake and ready to be discharged. That's the only time I will release this phone to you!!!"
"You must be kidding me, Dad, you can't have me stay beside a sick girl, someone I don't even know from anywhere? What would happen to the companies? How about
"My work as an actor?" I asked, swallowing hard. He is my father, and I know how hard he can be when it comes to making a certain decision, especially when he is imposing something on me.
"I can handle my company myself, and as for being an actor, I know for a fact that you won't be getting any role when you are in a scandal, so good luck to you, son, on your job as a caregiver".
Four Weeks Later
He said it, and it happened. I am stuck in this cell of a room, I can't go out to receive fresh air, and the smell of this darn place is suffocating. The only thing that has filled my ears for a whole month is nothing but the beeping sound of this machine and the annoying smell of this awful place.
The maids from the mansion brings breakfast, lunch and dinner and my wardrobe has been moved here already, I feel useless all because of this woman who wouldn't move.
She ruined my life, every single thing about it, and she has no idea. All she does is lie down on that bed without moving an inch. I wish I could punch her right there, but that would be cruel. The sight of her sucks so much that I want to puke..
This is a new day, and it remains the same. If my mother had the opportunity to be here, she would have smuggled me out of this hell of a place, but she isn't here. I'm sure my father has a hand in it. I walked back to my bed, staring at her from where I was seated. My eyes slowly traveled to the machine she was using to live, and her life support. I walked slowly towards it, ready to remove it. This would end my misery. No one would know what happened, and it would help me get home as soon as I can.
"Yeah, this is for my good, I just have to do it, it would help both of us." I closed my eyes tightly, as I held the plug connected to the wall socket on the wall with my eyes still closed. I flinched as soon as the machine's beep sound became irregular, and before I could react, a pair of blue eyes were staring directly at me.. For the next few seconds, I was so shocked and chose to remain silent, lost in her dreamy eyes, but her eyes were blinking, which means she is awake, right? Or am I mistaken?
"You have to excuse us, Mr. Brooklyn." The doctor said, rushing in with a nurse behind him, and I immediately stepped back without bothering to ask how they knew.
"Uhh... Should I leave or can I wait behind... I swear I didn't do anything... I only checked to see...." I stuttered.
"Please excuse us Mr. Brooklyn, stay outside, we need to run some test on her first." He said calmly. "Your parent will soon be here." He added as I walked away with my eyes still on the bed.
That was so creepy.
