I couldn’t fall apart. I couldn’t go back to being the weak creature I had always been before. Pulling myself up from the dirt and dusting myself off carefully, I took a look around to see if anyone had seen me. It looked like everyone was still going about their lives as though nothing had happened. I took a deep breath and peaked around the corner. They were gone. I wondered if Brodie had heard my thoughts. He was probably too busy to bother thinking about me, let alone trying to sense me. I stepped out from behind the cabin and headed straight to the meeting room we had been in before.
