Conlan’s POV
I had made the decision to personally free Paris and Dr. Paula before things could escalate any further and spark a full-scale war between the Hope Moon and Moon’s Bright packs.
“Are you certain about this, Alpha?” Aelix insisted. “You’re putting your life at risk, sir.”
“I know,” I replied firmly. “But Paris’s life is also at risk, as well as the doctor’s—and the lives of thousands who could die if a war breaks out between the packs.”
I knew Aelix had a thousand arguments ready to dissuade me, but he wouldn’t use them. He knew my resolve—what some preferred to call stubbornness.
“In that case, Alpha, I’ll organize everything so we can leave—”
“No,” I interrupted, knowing exactly what he was about to propose. “I’m going alone. You’ll remain in charge in my absence.”
