Paris’ POV
It was instinctive, not planned at all. I felt a surge of electricity race through my right leg and force it to lift just a few inches back before striking Doris hard in the shin. The impact was precise; my arm was freed instantly, and the pain that had tormented it vanished in a breath.
“Arrrgh!” Doris cried out in genuine pain. This time I had truly hurt her, and the weapon she had pressed against my head rolled across the floor.
I didn’t hesitate for a second. With the speed and precision forged by years of training at the academy, I spun around and applied the same hold she had used on me—only this time with the intention of lifting her and slamming her to the ground.
