She placed her hands on either side of his face and kissed him passionately. He pulled her tighter against his chest. He consumed her, completely entangled her in his sheer power. She had never felt so thoroughly entranced, swept away in the arms of a man who so clearly wanted her.
She was breathless when he pulled away from her. He gazed upon her with a calm and satisfied smile, and then he placed his hand just in front of her, a dull blue glow surrounding his fingers. Silence hung in the air for a moment before she lifted her gaze to meet his.
“What is that?” she asked. The subtle strain in her voice made her fear apparent, but the God of Shadow only smiled.
