CHAPTER 6: RAIN AND MEMORIES

Rain’s pov

I’ve been holding my baby sister in my arms for over an hour, she has been bawling her eyes out after I told her everything that happened to our pack.

The day our pack was attacked was the day we lost everything; our people, our grandparents, and our little Lia. Though our parents were able to turn the tide of the attack and win the fight, we already lost almost everything. It was too late when we realized that Lia and our grandparents, who were protecting her, had been ambushed. We found our grandmother’s body but never Lia’s or our grandfather's.

In the pack that was originally the second largest, only thirty members survived. Most died because their mates were murdered and couldn’t take the pain. Our parents, Liam and Georgina, suffered so much pain but they had to be strong for me since I was only six years old and had just lost the most important person in my life, my twin.

The Red Moon pack was wiped out and forgotten since then. The only people that checked on us were the former alpha king and queen, who were best friends with our parents.

They helped us to move on from our pain and suffering.

After telling Lia everything, I held her close to my heart and let her cry all her pains away. The door opened and Dustin walked in, followed by his parents, twin girls, and who I assume was the royal beta. Lia woke up from all the movements and sat beside me holding my hand like I would disappear and I felt a stab of pain in my heart.

“ Oh dear, whatever happens, we are here for you.” The twins said as they moved towards her, grabbed her, and hugged her tightly as they cried together for a while. They did not even know why but they felt Lia and Zaya’s pain and it was too much.

After they calmed down, they sat on the same sofa. “ Rain, why are you here?” Leo asked with surprise. “ I was being hunted by rogues, something about the last white wolf,” I said, sighing. “ For how long and did you tell your parents?” Leo asked with a dark look on his face.” I didn’t tell them, I couldn’t bring myself to ruin their vacation so I’ve been running for almost a month.” “ A month! We are your godparents for crying out loud. Why didn’t you think of running this way in the first place!” Leo shouts in anger, but his eyes show how worried and relieved he is.

“ Uncle Leo, calm down please, I know I should have come earlier, but Storm (Rain's wolf) kept on telling me that it was not yet time. I didn’t know what he meant, but today he told me to run to the royal pack, so I did and now I know why.” I said, turning to my left to look at my twin and hold her hand smiling. “ I met my twin sister, Lia. We always thought that she didn’t make it. Grandpa has been living in seclusion as his punishment for losing our dear Lia. All this time she was alive.”

Loud gasps are heard from all over the room. Shock, surprise, pain, and happiness are most of the emotions in everyone’s eyes except Dustin, who is happy for his mate. “ W..when I saw you for the first time during the grand opening I thought you looked familiar but I just pushed that thought away.” Georgina says as tears flow down her cheeks, “ your parents will be so happy to know that you are alive. Where have you been child, all this time.” She walks close to Lia and pulls her up to look at her, she caresses her cheeks then crushes her in a bear hug, crying her eyes out. “ My goddaughter is alive, oh sweetie I’ve missed you so so much.”

“ Ah, mom you are crushing my mate,” Dustin says as Leo comes back from his stupor and bear hugs the two women in each other's hands.

Leo chuckles and says,” Let us hug our goddaughter first, you can have your turn later.” Everybody in the room laughs at Dustin, who is currently pouting. After a few minutes, they let go of Lia and the looks in their eyes were full of love and admiration. “ Thank you, uncle Leo and aunt Gina. I have missed you all too.” Lia says as she smiles at them. “ Wait, you got your memories back?” The twins ask together, which I find creepy.

“ Yes, the moment I saw Rain, everything came back to me. Everything, including what happened that night Austin, marked my back!” Lia says, her face turning sinister and the room was freezing like literally freezing.

I can’t believe she got her powers this early. She was supposed to get them when she turned twenty. Unless something traumatic triggered it.

“ Lia calm down please.” The twins tell her with worried faces, it’s like it’s not the first time this has happened because they are not scared of her.

They try to hold her but she steps back, “ it’s not Lia!” “ ZAYA!” The twins shriek and suddenly stop their movements. “ Yes it’s me, my lazy ass had to take over before Lia lost herself in her ice. She’s too angry at that damn bastard.” Zaya chuckles eerily and turns to look at everybody in the room, then takes a seat beside me and gestures for everybody to sit.

“ Okay as you wish, but if your sass gets out of hand, we are letting Artemis and Anthena out.” The twins warn Lia’s wolf who is in full control. “ Now why would you do that!” She asks back dumbfounded at the twin's accusations. “ You know why Zaya,” Sally says.

“ Okay, I promise I won’t go berserk and I will tone my sass down just a little bit,” Zaya says while she looks everybody in the eye and her gaze stays on Dustin longer, then she smirks. “ Someone better tie-down Pio before he runs to annihilate the Blue Moon pack.” Zaya giggles and sends a fly kiss to her mate.

Zaya’s pov

Everybody turns to look at the alpha king, who is struggling to keep his wolf in check. Of course, I know why he is so livid. He already saw the memory Lia just talked about before she went ice queen on us. I cough to bring everyone’s attention back to me and I smile at them. I know I look weird but I can’t help it.

“ So, Pio, you will have to calm down because I will need your help to bring Lia back before she freezes your whole pack. If I’m not wrong, you are a fire elemental, right?” I ask. “ Yes I am, how did you know?” “ Fire is always attracted to ice and vice versa.” Rain says bewildered. “ No wonder you are mates, you balance each other perfectly!” Rain says as he laughs happily.

“ Let’s get this over with. When Lia turned sixteen she decided to go take a walk and have some fun. We got so lost in our thoughts and didn’t notice the group of boys walking our way until Lia bumped into them. She was so shocked and bowed to apologize immediately, but after they noticed it was the pack’s slave, they started calling her names. Lia was so used to the name-calling that she didn’t feel a thing, but when they noticed she had no reaction, they got angrier and the beatings started.

Since nobody knew that she had a wolf, she was bullied more than any omega in the pack. One of the boys thought that Lia looked ravishing with her white hair and all, so his lust got the better of him and he ordered the other boys to hold Lia down. After some struggle, the blouse was ripped off and we went berserk. All we saw was red and her anger was off the charts, so she iced the boy who was lusting over her and the others let go of her out of fright. One of them mind linked the alpha who at that time, was not available, so he sent his son Austin.

When he arrived and saw a frozen statue of one of his own, he was so mad he beat her up to a pulp and scribbled the word HADES on her back. Since our ice element had just awoken due to such circumstances, the boy woke up two hours later and they made a pact to never tell a soul what happened there. We were left lying on the forest floor alone and half-naked and waiting for our death. That didn’t come because the twins found me on time and took me to their parents, where I was treated and hidden, because every time Lia had that nightmare she froze the whole room. First, it was the pillows, then the bed. When it got worse, it was the whole room.

It took time for us to heal, especially Lia, so she blocked out that memory and she forgot with time. I also forgot until today.” After I finished, I turned to look at everybody in the room, only to find Rain and Malik holding Dustin down. My aunt and uncle were in tears and the twins were bawling out their eyes. Damn, what did I do?

“ PIO. CALM. DOWN. RIGHT. NOW!” I growled at him because he was almost giving in to his bloodlust, which is very common with fire elemental wolves.

It took him some time to calm down completely, then I walked to him and pulled him in my arms and hugged him. I know we’ve been hard on him but we needed time to heal, a rejection from alpha mates is really painful and we were just scared of hurting again. If it happened again, we wouldn’t have made it. I just hope he will be able to bring back my human. She is the only one that understands me and my personality. I might be a lazy ass wolf, but I am very powerful and loyal to my human. “Please bring back Lia.” That is the last thing I tell Pio through our bond link as he calmed down completely. “ I will I promise.” He replied.

The boys let him go. I went to him and held his hands in mine, “ It’s time to bring Lia back. I tell the rest of the people in the room and they all move to prepare a room that can handle both fire and ice and will not affect the pack. Pio let Dustin take over and showed me through the ginormous mansion/palace which was to be my home apparently. After a whopping three hours, I came to a conclusion, which is, this is just a palace but an advanced one.

It had top-notch security systems all designed and made by my one and only sexy mate, Dustin. No wonder his business is booming!

He still needs some polishing to reach Lia’s level of craziness with her precious toys. Humans really intrigue me. I am still learning about my own human even after being with her for over ten years.

Being a blessed wolf gifted to an elemental human has got to count for something. Apart from being the weirdo of the supernatural world, I was given another weirdo of the human race. Anyway, it happens once in a blue moon and this blue moon decided Lia and Zaya are it!
