HEADACHE

1629 Words
Lia woke up to find herself on a soft bed and she was sure it wasn’t hers. She sat up leaning on the headboard waiting for the headache to pass. After massaging her temples for a while, the headache subsided. She remembered everything that happened. She has got all her childhood memories and she remembers who betrayed their family. She now knows who made it all happen, they loved her so much and trusted her with their lives. She still couldn’t believe it, but now she knows why she lost her memories, her grandmother made it all happen. There were no signs to show how much she hated them all, she hid it well, so well that she was able to get away with murder. In her memories she saw everything that her grandmother did and when Lia found her she would blow the ashes of a Wolf flower on her face and she would forget everything completely, locking away this memories. She was not worried about telling her family the truth, they must know so that this information wouldn’t be used against them. She got out of bed and prepared to leave the room, which was probably Dustin’s due to the furniture and the dull colors. She mind linked Dustin to ask where they were so that she could meet them there. Afterwards, she reached the backyard and found everybody there, drinking tea and talking. The twins were also there with Malik and Ronny, who were busy talking with Rain something about them being single and mateless. Lia spotted Dustin and went towards him. He opened his arms naturally and Lia sat on his lap. These actions were so smooth that it dumbfounded everybody into silence. “ How are you feeling, Lia?” Georgia asked with a smile on her face. “ I am good mama, I had a powerful headache when I woke up, but after some massages it got better.” Lia said while winking at her mother who just chuckled at her antics. “ Ally is the pervert gone?” Lia asked and the twins shook their heads in denial. “ When we left he was still there, we left a trap for him in case he decides that he wants to extend his search inside our house.” Sally said, Ally and Lia giggled, which scared their men and the rest had their hairs standing on end. The trap obviously said it was a death trap, especially for a werewolf. The herbs in that house could turn a whole werewolf community extinct. That’s how dangerous their weapons are. “ Now that is settled, let’s get to business. I remember everything and I have to tell you all what happened in our pack before the war. Grandpa, dad, mama and Rain, you all have memories of that person, but I’m sure you don’t remember because all of you have a trace of the wolf flower on your bodies. Naturally, the wolf flower, also known as mariphasa lupine lumina, is a rare plant that doesn’t harm us werewolves, but when it’s burned into ash it can be used to block or wipe out memories, whether good or bad. We were all induced with wolf flower ashes, the best way to get it in our bodies is by blowing into our faces and you will end up breathing it. What I am about to tell you will trigger all your memories and you will experience severe headache for a while. Uncle Leo, aunt Laura, Malik and Ronny, you will help me stay close to them just in case they go berserk from the memories, please.” Lia said as the twins moved to sit next to her as Dustin moved to stand behind her. “ Do you guys remember when we had that barbecue night, and grandma said she was not feeling well? What did we decide to do?” Lia asked. “ We postponed the barbecue, it never happened.” Rain said, frowning and the rest nodded, agreeing to his answer. “ No, we didn’t postpone it. It happened and grandma was there. She was not sick. Those are planted memories. Do you guys remember uncle Raymond”, Lia asked worriedly, and then a loud howl followed. Old Carl had fallen down holding his head in pain, tears were rolling from his eyes. Rance and Georgina followed, then Rain. This was a forbidden topic in this family. Apparently, they had all forgotten this main character in their lives who brought happiness to their lives. The whole family was down with headaches, all the blocked memories were returning. They were painful, bad and some happy, but mostly they were nerve wrecking. Lia just sat there looking at them stewing in their own pain. She couldn’t help them in any way. They had to remember everything that happened that day during the war because they were betrayed and saved at the same time. They had to know the truth whether it hurt or burned. It was time they remembered everything. Xander was fighting for his life, the stupid man just had to enter the death-trapped house. Anyway, we can’t blame him. Stupidity, madness and impatience run in the family. He was struggling to get out of that hell house. He regretted entering this particular house but now he knew. He knew this was where Lia lived, all the hidden weapons, the colorless and odorless gases were everywhere in the house. He crawled to the door and rolled his heavily burned body down the front stairs and ended up in the flower beds which had beautiful purple flowers. The flowers bloomed like they found eternal sunlight. Poor Xander was unaware that his blood was being used as manure to nurture the flowers nearby. By the time he noticed something was wrong, he was feeling light-headed and losing consciousness. He used his last ounce of strength to roll himself away from the flower bed and landed on the nicely cut grass. The last thought he had was, “ If I survive this, I will marry the owner of this house.” He had never been in such a dire state ever since he was young, nothing could kill him and he was immune to wolfsbane. This was just his bad day. He met the wrong people in the wrong place at the wrong time. Xavier was experiencing the effects of the poison but had no idea what was wrong. The headache was earth shuttering. He was almost driven mad, the other rogues just avoided him to avoid being infected by that strange illness he had. After the headache, he started to convulse. The convulsions were once in a while, so it didn’t cause an alarm. Some hours later, he was back to normal, it was like everything was just a nightmare. He didn’t know what was coming. If he knew, I bet he would have killed and buried himself. At the palace, Lia’s family was seated on a picnic blanket on the ground. They were holding a handkerchief each. Their red eyes were signs that they had just cried and they looked disheveled. Lia was giving them time to digest all the memories recovered. She knew it would hurt them and break some of them. This Raymond was their grandpa’s twin and their grandma’s true mate. He rejected her but she didn’t accept the rejection. The bond was already broken though, so old Carl was her second chance mate. She was so obsessed with Raymond that she pretended to accept old Carl’s bond. Her wolf went mad. She pretended to be well but she was busy playing both twins and when old Carl found out he ended up with a new memory or some lost ones. This continued until nobody had any memory of anything and Raymond ended up dead because he was being tied up in a basement somewhere. He chose death because he was aware of what the crazy woman was doing and he didn’t know how to tell his twin. The amount of wolfsbane running in his body was enough to drive even the alpha king to death. When old Carl finally caught up to this she devil’s lies, they were in the middle of a war which he was sure that woman was involved in. He remembered that she stole Lia from where all the pack children were hidden. She planned to escape with her because Lia knew one of her biggest secrets. They chased each other into the forest until they were alone, away from all the fighting. After questioning her and knowing everything, his mind went blank again and the memory of Lia and her death was all they remembered. “ That woman was the curse our family was blessed with, after everything she did, the pain she caused.” Old Carl sighed heavily with tears in his eyes. He lost his brother just because of this woman. He never understood why his brother could reject his mate, but now he knew and he found out the hard way. The palace had a dark cloud looming over it, the despair, regret, anger and sadness in the atmosphere was just choking. The hosts made preparations for dinner because everybody was just too tired from all the crying and the bad news that followed one after the other. Guest rooms were prepared for the extra people and Malik had to remind the helpers not to bother because the twins would use his residence. This day was almost over and the number of people who had it hard will get better, maybe. Most were already doing better, others were still unconscious, half dead and bleeding and the other was definitely entering phase three of his sufferings.
