Who is she?
We were sitting by the fire admiring the moon, when a different smell caught my attention, I wasn't much of a person to be around people so I left without anyone drawing my attention, I followed the smell and moved away from the village, the moon served as a light guiding me to something unexpected . " Koda, what are you doing?" I was startled when I heard Ruda's voice so close. "I smelled something different, it doesn't belong to anyone in the pack ." I kept walking. "Shouldn't it be better to call Kael?" Kael was the leader of our tribe and my brother. Everyone acted according to what he wanted. After all , we were obligated to do so. So, for any and all decisions, everyone had to consult Kael. But not today. Today, something was urging me to move on and find out what was going on. "Go back to the tribe. I don't want you to be in danger." Ruda was a little younger than me . We were great friends. Even though I liked being alone and didn't find myself in the pack, I could tell I had someone to talk to. "I'm not going to leave you alone ." We followed the scent transformed. That way, it would be easier if something happened. I instructed Kael to stay behind me at all times . I couldn't allow anything to happen to him . As we got closer, we heard a grunt of pain. Someone was hurt there. “It’s a wolf, Koda.” We got closer and the small gray wolf with red eyes stared at us and for a moment tried to get up to growl, but he was so weak that he soon fell, losing consciousness. Little by little, his ego began to appear, leaving his body completely naked. It was a woman, and she was very hurt. “What are we going to do?” Ruda asked agitatedly. “We have to help her. My mother has knowledge of herbs and can save her if necessary.” “Koda, we don’t even know which pack she came from. Kael won’t allow it.” He was scared. “He’s going to punish us.” “Don’t go, you don’t know anything. Go back home. I’ll take her safely and nothing will happen to you.” “You’re my friend. I can’t leave you alone to face your brother’s wrath.” — He won't deny help, if she's from another pack and is important, they owe us, it's another tribe at peace, without discord with ours, now go. - I ordered, he hesitated but ran, I followed to where I had left my clothes and put them on, I picked up the little girl and followed to the tribe with her in my arms, when I appeared I ended up drawing everyone's attention, of course, her smell didn't belong to anyone there. Kael quickly appeared coming towards me, his expressionless look made me uneasy. — Where did you find the girl? — In the forest. - I answered. - She's very hurt, find something to cover her body. - I asked the little wolf who was nearby looking curiously, she waited for Kael to let her and then ran to get something. — Didn't you see anything else? - I denied. — Was she nearby? — A little, near the lake's cliff. - Soon the little girl arrived with a blanket and covered her. — Take it to mommy, she'll know what to do. Koda, tell her to call me as soon as she wakes up. I need to know what she was doing near our village and why she's so hurt. - I agreed and went to my mother's house. There she started first aid, cleaning her entire body with herbs. I left so I could do her job better. From afar, I saw Ruda coming towards me. — Did he fight? - I denied. — Your brother has been acting really strange lately. - She said as she looked at the big full moon. - What could have happened to her? — I don't know, Ruda. All I know is that I'm really curious to know where she came from and what happened to make her show up here like this. Something doesn't smell right to me. — And if she's a fugitive, what will your brother do with her? - I shrugged. — I don't know. Maybe he'll send her back to where she came from. — Or make her one of his wives. I heard him say that he found her very beautiful despite all the bruises on her skin. - I would smile if it weren't something tragic. I feel sorry for her if he wants something like that. — Until he finds his Luna, Kael won't give the wolves peace. - He's been in charge of the tribe for a few years now and his Luna has never shown up. Sometimes that becomes a topic around here, about how the alpha doesn't have a Luna to give him heirs and expand his house. — Hi, boys. - Shakira's calm voice came from behind, making Ruda startle. - You're a very scared wolf, Ruda. You'll never get married like that. What woman would want a man who, instead of protecting her, gets scared of everything? - Shakira loved to tease the boy. - Do you know who she is? - I denied. - Your aunt has been there for a while, hasn't she managed to wake the girl up yet? Wow, her bruises must be bad. - When I found her, she was practically unconscious. She tried to force herself to face me and fainted. - I commented. - But I think she'll be fine. We're always fine. - I concluded by remembering that in my mother's hands, it was difficult for someone to leave... I went into the house and sat in the living room, observing her body still inert there. My mother said that she didn't open her eyes at all, she made some noises but she was so hurt that she thought it would be hard for her to wake up today. Other wolves helped my mother wash her and then I put comfortable clothes on her. Now I was in a makeshift bed on the living room floor. I sat in the rocking chair until I fell asleep. I thought I had woken up there until I felt something cold on my neck and a trembling voice reached my ear. "Who are you and what am I doing here?" I opened my eyes slowly, seeing hers in flames. The woman who had been lying there inert until recently was now threatening her with a small, sharp knife. "I saved you. You're here because I brought you so that they would take care of you." - Her eyes, full of uncertainty, stared at me and slowly returned to their natural color. I wasn't going to transform, much less attack her. The poor thing was already hurt too much. I could pass out again for several days this time. — What is this place? - She asked, looking around. — My house, actually my mother's house too. She's the one who took care of you. We're in my tribe. - Her frightened eyes looked at me again. - What made you end up here? - She thought for a moment before answering and finally dropped the knife on the table. — My tribe was attacked. I don't really know what happened. I just know that they tried to kill us. I got into a fight with someone and ended up having to run away. There were few of us and they were many. We wouldn't survive if we didn't run away.
