CHAPTER 6 | THE SALVATOIN

15 days passed. Andrew started to live with Angela, watching over her all the time. They were both very happy with each other. Andrew was taking care of Angela like a human, like a real boyfriend. Angela was very lucky to have Andrew in her life. Yes, Andrew was a spirit, but Angela had no regrets about that. Andrew was always with Angela, sometimes visible, sometimes invisible. Angela was really enjoying the mysterious looks of Andrew. She liked it when Andrew pretends to be invisible and then suddenly appears in front of her. This made Angela feel so excited and joyful.

Andrew also watched out for Angela’s health. He knew how important her health was to Angela. But he didn't’t know one big truth about Angela’s health.

One day, Angela had an important seminar at the hospital. I was about to go to the seminar but she was so confused about what to wear. So she asked Andrew.

“Andrew, I have a seminar today from the hospital. Can you tell me which dress will suit me? I can’t decide! If I should go in one of my casual dresses or wear something more formal?”

Andrew didn’t answer. He was sitting quietly in a corner, he looked so dull & angry. Angela noticed that Andrew’s eyes were bright red & bleeding. Angela quickly ran to Andrew. She was shocked to see his face. Blood trickled out from both sides of his nose and mouth.

“Andrew… Andrew dear, what happened? Why are your eyes & mouth bleeding?”

“Nothing Angela, today is the day when me and my family were dead. It reminds me of that sorrowful day, that day when my mom died in front of my eyes, that day when I saw my siblings were dying one by one. When I remember that day, it makes me so angry, so my eyes become bloody. You know what. Sometimes it becomes very hard for me to live like this, live or death. What should I call it? I don’t know. I can’t feel peace. I’m exhausted!”

“Sometimes I really wish to become free, free from this world, free from this burden! But, I can’t. You know why? Because, when I looked at your face, see your magical eyes, charming face, rosy lips, thick black hair, I feel extreme fascination for you. There is a strange strong bond between us, which ties up with you. When I see your extreme love for me, then I realize that I do not want to be free, I would rather stay with you the rest of your life.”

Angela put her head on Andrew’s shoulder. She was so upset to hear about Andrew’s condition.

“I just don’t know what to say! Sometimes, I also feel that you are not okay. Sometimes I feel that why you? Why do you have to go through all of this? Andrew dear, please tell me what I can do for you to give your soul peace? I can’t see you in this condition. I want to help you, help your soul to feel peace. I can do anything for you!”

“ No… no Angela, I don’t have to do anything for myself. Honestly, I really don’t know what can make me feel peace. You just love me, stay beside me. That’s enough for me. I think no one else could give me more peace than your love.”

“But, Andrew…”

“No buts! If you want me to stay happy or feel peace, you have to stay happy. Don’t worry, I will be okay!”

Andrew wiped the tears from Angela’s eyes. He is afraid that she has lost her mind and might not be able to control herself anymore, but he doesn’t want to take any chances. She looked at him with those big blue eyes of hers and smiled.

“ You know what, Angela? You have bound me in the web of illusion and love. It’s like there’s a magic in you that constantly draws me closer to you. I find so much peace when I caress your beautiful flower-like innocent face, your wavy hair. When I touch you, a strange energy is transmitted inside me. You’re an angel, Angela!”

Andrew gave Angela a kiss. A kiss by a soul. She could feel it very clearly. Angela was feeling very shy. Her cheeks became pink. Andrew gave her another one and then whispered in her ear. “I love you,” he said. He kissed her again. “I love you too,” Said Angela.

“ Now, you go to the hospital. And wear that white dress, you will look like an angel. My love!”

Angela felt shy & smiled. But she didn’t stop thinking about Andrew. She whispered,

“ I have to do something for Andrew that makes him feel better. He loves me so much & I love him too! How could I see him suffering? But the point is, what should I do?”

Thinking about that, Angela left for the hospital. Angela went to the seminar at the hospital, but her only concern was what she could do for Andrew.

All that day, Angela kept thinking about how to make Andrew feel better. When she was returning home, she took that old road. While she was crossing the broken hospital building, an idea came into her mind.

“Yes! Got it. Andrew wanted to do treatment of his mother in that hospital so that his mother get well. But that didn’t happen. His mother died. So he took his own life because he felt guilty for not being able to save his mother.”

“So what if I establish a new hospital where thousands of poor people like Andrew can get their mothers treated for free or at the cheapest cost. Yes, this is the solution!”

Angela quickly started the car & tried to return home as soon as possible. When she came home, the first thing she did was she picked up the phone & called her mom.

“Hello, mom! How are you?”

“ I’m doing well dear. How about you?”

“ I’m good. Mom, I want to share with you something important. Please listen to me.”

“ Sure honey! Tell me what’s the important matter.”

"I have an idea in my mind I want to share with you. The medical situation in this small town is bad! Most of the people here are poor who cannot afford medical expenses, as a result of which they die due to lack of treatment if they fall ill. I was thinking of selling my property and establishing a hospital here for poor people so that they can get treatment for major diseases free of charge or at a very low cost.”

“Oh my God, Honey! that’s a great idea! I’m so proud of you, my child. I totally agree with you. Don’t worry, I will manage everything to sell the property within 2 days. God bless you honey.”

“God bless you too, mom. Thank you mom for supporting me. You make me so happy. You’re the best mom in the world! I love you.”

Angela was overjoyed. Angela felt a little pleased after so many days. At that time, Andrew went to Angela’s room.

“ What happened, Angela? You are looking so excited about something.”

“Yes… I’m super excited but it’s a surprise for you. I can’t tell you now.”

“ A surprise! For me? OK, I’m waiting for it. But how long I have to wait for it?”

“I don’t know exactly, maybe 6 months!”

“6 months? That’s a very long time! Let me think that will be a very big surprise!”

“Of course! It is a big surprise. You will be extremely happy to see it. Finally, I can do something for you.”

Andrew looked at Angela in surprise.

“ What a sweet girl! I have seen many people throughout my life. I have received bad behavior & negligence from everyone. I had forgotten that there is such a generous heart as Angela in the world. A girl who does so much even for the happiness of a soul, is not a human, but an angel.

2 days later:

Angela’s mom called her & informed her that she had sold the property. Angela couldn’t have been happier. From that day, Angela contacted a construction company & started the work to establish her dream hospital.

“ Finally, the work has started. I feel very excited about this. My own hospital! Wow, that’s perfect. All the doctors here will treat patients according to my rules. No patient will return from this hospital without treatment! I am really getting a lot of peace by doing such a great job in life. Andrew will be so happy!”

The construction of the new hospital continued day by day. Angela visited there every day to see if things were going well. She was waiting eagerly to see the final look of the hospital.

6 months later:

Finally, the construction of the hospital is completed. Angela’s dream hospital is ready! She couldn’t be happier. One late night, Angela took Andrew on a walk towards the broken building.

“ Andrew, let’s go. Tonight, I will show you the surprise. Be ready to see the surprise!”

“At now? So late at night? Why is it so late at night?”

“ I want to see you this first. So I decided to show you at the night when everyone is sleeping. Let’s go.”

A misty winter night. Everyone was sleeping. Andrew and Angela reached the old road while talking. Andrew remembered that rainy night when he first saw Angela. Then Andrew found that Angela had brought him back to the old road.

“ This road? This is the same….”

“ Surprise…! My love.”

Andrew found that the broken building was no longer there, a new hospital building had been built in its place. He was shocked at the beginning. He & Angela went inside the new hospital. It was so beautiful and clean; it looked like an oasis from the chaos of the city. The building was all white with big windows. Andrew asked Angela,

“A new hospital! But I don’t understand Angela. Who built this new hospital here? Everyone knows that this has been a haunted place since my death!”

“ Andrew my love, I ordered you to build this hospital. I want to do something for you. I built this hospital because I thought about the matter. You wanted treatment for your mom, so that she could get well. But you can’t do that because you don’t have enough money. That becomes a great regret for you. That’s why you can’t feel peace.”

“This hospital is made for poor & helpless people so that they can have the medical facilities for free or at the cheapest cost. So nobody can go through a situation like you went. Here, thousands of children like you can get their mothers treated and no doctor can stop them from not having money. And when you see it, your soul will definitely find peace.”

Andrew was speechless. Angela gave him the greatest gift of life. Andrew realized that this was his salvation, that this would calm his soul. Andrew hugged Angela and cried for a long time. He had never known true happiness until now.

“ Today you have given me a most precious gift, Angela. I am truly at peace. The peace I have been waiting for years. Thank you so much, my love.”

“I love you so much Andrew, so it was my duty to please you.”

The hospital was inaugurated the next morning. Angela cut the red ribbon to inaugurate. From that day, patients were treated in hospitals by a few doctors. Andrew was so happy to see that. He wished it had happened when he was alive and well. But now, Angela looked at him and began to cry. She tried hard not to be sad, but tears kept flowing down her eyes like a waterfall. Andrew hugged her and said,

“Don’t worry my love, I am here forever.”

Angela smiled through her tears. She was so happy for Andrew, so glad & happy about everything. She felt lucky that Andrew came into her life.
