CHAPTER 12 | THE MEETING

It was a beautiful sweet morning, a light breeze was blowing. The birds were chirping. It was the weekend. Jayden’s office was closed, so he chose that day to visit Angela. On other weekends Jayden wakes up a little bit late, but that day he woke up early. He turned off the alarm clock placed next to him. Jayden got off the bed, pulled back the white curtains of the room & opened the window. Jayden was standing in front of the window enjoying the sweet morning sun and breeze.

“What a beautiful morning! The sun, the breeze, everything seemed very sweet & peaceful. But I never felt like this before. Today I know why everything feels so good to me. I have a strange feeling inside my mind, the feeling is really wonderful!”

“But why do I feel like this? Today, after so many years, I am going to meet my love Angela. Is that why I feel like this? Maybe…”

Jayden finished his conversation with him & walked into the living room. He didn’t feel like making breakfast that day, so he ordered food from the restaurant. Jayden remembered Angela’s favorite dish, so he decided to order Angela’s favorite dish, Pasta with meatballs. Jayden still remembered Angela’s favorite pasta.

“I still remember your favorite food, Angela! I still remember everything about you!”

Jayden thought it wouldn’t hurt to get Angela’s favorite pasta with the gift. This will make Angela happier, and the happier Angela is, the easier it will be for Jayden to achieve Angela's love & Jayden would do anything to achieve Angela. He was so desperate.

Within twenty minutes, the delivery man showed up with Jayden’s food. After paying the delivery man, Jayden sat down on the couch. He was watching television and eating.

Angela’s Home:

Angela also woke up a little bit late in the morning. Angela has to treat & take care of many patients throughout the week. So she got rid of the fatigue of the whole week at once by sleeping for 9 hours. Angela got up from bed. Angela was still sleepy.

“Oh… why am I feeling soo sleeepy today? It’s killing me!”

Angela sleepily went down the stairs to the kitchen. As Angela approached the dining table, she heard Andrew’s voice.

“Hey, baby! You woke up? Have a seat, I have something special for you.”

“Oh, baby you? What are you doing in the kitchen?”

“I’m making something special. Just wait for 5 minutes, baby.”

“Oh… okay…” Angela put her head down and fell asleep again.

Andrew looked back and saw that the tired Angela had fallen asleep again.

“How cute! My lovely soulmate.”

5 minutes later, Andrew was trying to wake up Angela. Angela woke up after calling a few times.

“Angela… Angela baby, please wake up.”

“Wh… what happened honey? Did I fall asleep again?”

“Yeah. Now go & fresh up. Then come to the dining table.”

“OK, honey.”

Angela went upstairs to fresh up. While Angela was doing that, Andrew quickly grabbed a plate, served & decorated the pasta nicely on it and covered the plate. In a short moment, Angela freshened up and sat down at the dining table again.

“So, dear. Where is the special thing?”

Andrew uncovered the plate. “Yes, here is it! Your favorite Pasta with meatballs.”

“What? Oh… baby you cooked this for me?”

“Yes, my love. I noticed how busy & tired you were this whole week, so, I wanted to do something that made you happy. You have to work, you have to cook.So, I have decided that I’ll make your favorite meal to chill you up."

“I just don’t know what to say!

“You don’t have to say anything. Now taste it & tell me how it is?”

Angela started to eat. As she took a bit, she found that the pasta was so tasty. She was delighted because of the taste. It was just like her mom’s cooking.

“Baby! It is so delicious! I just love it. Eating this pasta reminded me of the taste of my mother’s hand cooking.”

“Seriously! Wow, I’m so glad that you love it. Enjoy your meal, dear.”

“By the way, how would you know that pasta & meatballs are my favorite?”

“Come on, Angela! Is that so hard to know? I guessed it. I saw you so many times ordering it from a restaurant.”

“Yeah, thanks a lot honey. I really miss my mom’s cooking, it’s exactly just like her cooking.”

“Home-made food always tastes delicious. My mother used to cook this recipe sometimes. I learned it from her.”

“Wow, that’s really great.”

Angela & Andrew kept talking. They both went out for a walk in the nearby park. Andrew was invisible though, they stopped in front of a lake. Angela took some long breaths. Andrew came close to Angela and said,

“ I have many memories of this lectern. I often come here with friends & siblings and play. Sometimes I used to come here even if I was upset, sit in a corner and throw stones in the water”

Because there were people around in the park, Angela couldn’t say anything in response to Andrew’s words. Andrew understood that too. But Angela was heartbroken.

“Why is that i***t (Bill) not coming? When will I repay him for what he has done? I was supposed to take revenge soon,” Angela thought.

After spending some more time, Angela and Andrew went back home.

In the afternoon:

Jayden was completely ready to meet Angela. He was so confident & overjoyed. Angela’s favorite color is black, so Jayden wore his most expensive complete black suit. As always, he looked stylish & handsome. He was at the high status. He was standing in front of the mirror & fixing his tie.

“Today Angela will be surprised and impressed by my appearance at first. I feel perfect!”

“Angela, one day you will fix my tie while going to the office like this, very soon!”

Jayden left the house & walked towards his car. He got into the car & started driving to go to a nearby restaurant. After getting pasta from the restaurant, Jayden searched for a flower shop, intending to buy a bouquet of Angela’s favorite white roses. As he got closer to the block where Angela lived, he found a flower shop. From there, Jayden bought a large bouquet of white roses for Angela. Everything was taken care of, it was just time to meet Angela. Jayden’s heart rose to his throat, he was both excited and nervous.

After driving a little further, Jayden arrived in front of Angela’s house. He went a little further to the parking zone and parked the car. Then he walked towards Angela’s house. He stood in front of the main door & pressed the calling bell.

‘Ting- Tong’

The door bell rang. Angela was upstairs, she was doing her medical projects. As she heard the bell, she went to the main door.

“Am I expecting someone? No, I don’t think so. Then, who is it? Maybe Olivia.”

Angela was in a rush so she forgot to check the person before opening the door. As she opened the door, she saw a man standing in black clothes with a black hat. Suddenly seeing such a person, Angela was frightened, but she didn’t let the person understand her fear in front of her. For a minute Angela thought Bill was standing in front of her.

“Excuse me! Who are you & how can I help you?” Angela was pretending that everything was normal.

But Jayden could sense that Angela was scared of him. So, Jayden decided that he’d play a little prank on Angela first.

“Hello, I’m the senior detective from The Florida Detective Department. Are you Angela Mulgannon?”

“Yes I’m. What’s the matter sir?

“We have found out that you are involved in various frauds in the medical sector, so I have to do a search in your house.”

“What?? Me doing frauds? Sir, I think this is a big misunderstanding. I would never do something like that!”

“You can’t lie to me, Miss Angela. I have proof, no one can save you.”

Angela became broken & nervous. She started to cry & screamed loudly,

“Sir, please believe me, I’m innocent. Please.” Angela began to cry loudly and fell to her knees.

Jayden decided to stop the prank & started to laugh at Angela.

“Got you! Oh my God, I didn’t realize that my acting was so cool that you can’t understand it was just a prank!” Jayden kept laughing.

“Wait! What do you mean by just a prank?? Do I look like your friend or something? How could you prank on someone you don’t even know? Tell me, do we know each other??” Angela was so annoyed.

“Yes, we do. We know each other. Just look at me with all of your attention. Then you’ll understand Angela!”

That time, Angela carefully looked at Jayden. He looked so familiar to Angela. Angela was confused.

“Wait, why do you look so familiar? Seriously, tell me who are you?”

“Did you forget me? OK, let me tell you, I’m Jayden, Jayden Bannet. Your best friend!”

Angela was totally surprised to see Jayden after a long time. Angela became emotional. She hadn’t seen Jayden since high school.

“Jayden! Really it’s you? Oh my God!”

“Yes Angela, it’s me. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you.”

Tears came out of Angela’s eyes. Angela & Jayden hugged each other. Jayden’s love for Angela grew even more as he hugged her. Jayden hugged Angela tightly. Andrew stood invisible at one side of the room, watching everything. Andrew was suspicious of Jayden.

“Please wait, Angela. I have something for you. Let me bring those.”

Jayden placed the gifts he had brought for Angela on a bench by the main gate. From there he brought the gifts.

“Here are some little surprises for you. I hope you like them, Angela.” Jayden gave her the flower bouquet.

“Oh, Jayden, thank you so much.”

“Please open the gift box, Angela. I’m sure you’ll be excited.

“Ok”

Angela was opening the wrapping paper on the gift. When she saw the makeup box, she couldn’t have been happier.

“Oh wow, a makeup box! Thank you so much. Jayden, you remember that I love to do makeup?”

“Yeah! How could I forget? I remembered every single detail about you. That’s why I brought your favorite white roses, a makeup box & your favorite meal, pasta.”

“Really! I thought that you hated me since I wasn’t able to see you when you were shifting to Florida. Since that day, you haven't contacted me.”

“Honestly Angela, I was mad at you in the beginning. But as time went on, I started to feel for you again. Not a day went by that I didn’t think about you. So today, after so many days, I dare to come to meet you again.”

“I felt terrible on that day. I promised you that I would be there when you were leaving but I failed to keep that. I should’ve listened to you that day. I shouldn't have gotten wet in the rain that day. Can you please forgive me?”

“Hey Angela! Don’t feel bad for what happened. It wasn’t your fault. I forgave you a long time ago. Now, can you smile please?”

“OK.” Angela smiled.

“Let’s go to eat the pasta, I’m starving!”

“Yes, let’s go. You sit down there & I grab you a plate.”

Jayden & Angela went to the dining room. They were both eating & talking, but Andrew stood helplessly in a corner of the living room watching the two of them. Andrew was feeling very insecure about Angela.

“So, how is your life going Jayden?”

“Nothing very interesting, the way a detective lives his life. I’ve to solve different types of cases day by day, a life with a lot of busyness. How about you?”

“I’m also very busy all day. The two hospitals sometimes have so many patient appointments that I think that I’ll pass out one day, but yet that’s my duty & I always try to do that with concentration and devotion.”

“Yeah, I remember you always wanted to be a successful doctor. You were vowed to become a ethical doctor. I see you have really succeeded in fulfilling your dreams. Good job!”

“Thank you Jayden. So how many cases did you solve?”

“I almost solved 50+ cases.”

“Oh my gosh! That’s a lot of in such an age. But there’s no doubt, because you have always been so smart, you are always interested in solving mysteries. You always love to read detective stories, thriller stories. I understood that you want to be a detective when you grow up.”

“Yes, but you’re smarter than me because no one can imagine that you overcame the obstacles of your mental disorder & became such a successful doctor. You’re the best Angela!”

“Thanks Jayden. If you weren’t with me, maybe I wouldn’t have been able to overcome my disorder.”

“How’re you now? Does it still bother you?”

“Yeah, I still sometimes go through a panic attack. I had to take medicine for it.”

Jayden and Angela talked to each other for a long time. Andrew felt so upset seeing the two of them together, he felt like Angela had forgotten about him all of a sudden. But he didn’t want to be selfish. Andrew thought

“Well, how long can a human have a relationship or live with an unsatisfied soul? Angela is a beautiful and precious girl. I don’t want to ruin her life like this.”

“Angela deserves love, she needs a man who can give her real love, a love from a human. I have to talk to Angela seriously. Angela mayn’t understand yet, but I understand. Jayden is here to love Angela, he has a feeling for her.”

Andrew disappeared from the house sadly.

In the afternoon:

Jayden and Angela finished lunch and went to the shopping mall in the afternoon. Then they both went to the park and chatted for a while. Angela took Jayden to a famous restaurant to give him a treat.

“Oh, Angela! This is a very expensive restaurant, let’s go somewhere else.”

“Nope, just chill! The bills are on me. This is a treat for you from your best friend.”

“No way! If you want me to eat here, we’re gonna split the bill. Otherwise, I’m going somewhere else.”

“Okay, okay. Now let's go inside and sit down.”

Jayden & Angela went inside the restaurant. Angela already had a reservation there. They sat down on the reserved seat. A waiter came & asked for the order. While Angela was busy giving the order, Jayden discovered that his phone was ringing. When he took out his phone from the suite pocket he saw that Bill was calling him. Jayden got a little bit nervous. Jayden quickly cut the call so that Angela couldn’t understand.

The waiter took the order and walked away. Jayden heard the phone vibration again. He was thinking about how he could answer the call. Then he got an idea.

“Hey, Angela. You wait, I have to go to the restroom real quick.”

“Oh, sure. No problem.”

Jayden went into the restroom. Then he called Bill back. The call was ongoing.

“Hello Mr. Bill. How have you been?”

“Good. How have you been, Mr. Jayden & why aren’t you answering my calls?”

“Mr. Bill, I’m spying on Angela right now. Can we just talk later?”

“Oh, of course, of course. I’m hanging up right now.”

Jayden came back & sat down again. Within waiting for some moments, the waiter showed up with the hot meal. Angela & Jayden really enjoyed the meal. After finishing dinner, Jayden was about to leave but Angela offered him to stay at her house for the night.

“Hey, Jayden! It’s quite late at night, why don’t you stay at my house?”

“No, that would be too much. I would rather go to my house.”

“No, I have no problem, really.”

“Well, since you are asking so much, okay then let’s go.” Jayden was actually happy to stay with Angela in the night.

They both got into the car & Jayden started to drive towards Angela’s home. Jayden loved every second & every single moment with Angela. Jayden played some romantic songs. But Angela didn’t notice that because she was in deep thought about Andrew.

“I didn’t talk to Andrew all day today. I don’t know what he thought. Has he seen Jayden? Why do I feel like Andrew is upset with me?”

While Angela was thinking about that, Jaden stopped the car. Angela got out of the car and started unlocking the gate. Andrew stood from a distance and watched the two of them get out of the car together. He was jealous.

“I hate this guy! Why is he still with Angela?”

At midnight:

Angela wasn’t able to sleep. She was missing Andrew. Again and again it seemed to Angela that Andrew was upset.

“He stays beside me every night. Why is he not showing up tonight? I’m damn sure he is upset. Let's just call him!”

Angela was calling Andrew slowly so that Jayden couldn’t understand.

“Andrew… dear, where are you? Please show up! I know you are here.”

“What happened?” Andrew sounded annoyed.

“Hey, darling! Where were you? Why didn’t you show up the entire day?”

“Is that really a question? How could I? You were busy the whole day with your loving best friend!”

“You’re right. I know you are upset with me over this matter. But I had no choice, he'd been my best friend since elementary school. Today, after a very long time, he suddenly showed up, so I couldn’t ignore my best friend.”

“It isn’t about ignoring. It hurts me that you two were so close. Hugging each other, gossiping, eating at the restaurant, going out for a drive, all these hurt me.”

“All of those were normal, Andrew. Everyone treats their friends in the same way that I did. I don’t understand why you are so upset!”

“Those weren’t normal, Angela. It seemed like you two were more than best friends. Even if you treated him as a best friend, but he didn’t. He has feelings for you, Angela. The way he was treating you, it was looking like a lover, trust me!”

“Really! I guess I didn’t notice that. I mean I felt, but just a little bit. I thought he was just being nice to me.”

“You have to be careful, Angela. I almost thought that he had stolen you away from me. Please just be careful of his intentions.”

“Stolen me! Are you kidding? I was just being so nice to him because he is my best friend & he came to visit me after such a long time. I don’t have any feelings for him. I love you. No one can take your place darling.”

“Seriously! Does that mean you aren’t in love with Jayden?”

“Of course not! He’s just a friend.”

“Oh Angela! You don’t know how much this means to me. Really, you are an angel, an angel of true love.”

“Thank you baby. And I will notice Jayden’s intentions for me from now on. If he shares any of his feelings with me, then I will tell him clearly that you are in my life, I love you.”

“Ok. Now let’s go to bed.”

Angela went to bed again. Andrew was sitting next to Angela. Angela was worried about Jayden. She thought,

“I love only Andrew and no one else. Jayden is just my childhood best friend. He cannot be allowed to cross the limit in any way. If Jayden comes between me and Andrew I’ll forget he’s my friend.”
