CHAPTER 9 | WHEN BILL & ANDREW WERE SUSPICIOUS ABOUT ANGELA

Angela was thinking that she was successful in luring Bill into her trap. But, she was totally wrong. Angela thought she could easily lure Bill into a trap by showing him the greed of the property. Bill was so cunning, which was beyond Angela's imagination.

“ The property… Why did she choose me to sell that property? But I remember there was so much trouble with that property. Her mother filed a case in my name to recover this property from my possession. What’s going on? I have to think about it smartly, very smartly!”

Bill was analyzing the whole matter. It was so strange to Bill that Angela, that Angela whom he bullied & abused for years. She wanted to sell her property to him. Bill was rocking on the rocking chair and thought.

“No… something else is going on! What’s the benefit of her selling the property to me? Why did she feel pity for me? Not a chance! Then what’s the reason?”

Bill began to remember the days of the past. He remembered every day he beat up Angela, bullied her whenever he got a chance. He remembered that Angela became traumatized by his mental torture. Bill got up from the chair & took his laptop. He opened his f*******: & started to search for Angela’s sss account. He typed Angela’s full name & he found her account in just a second.

“Oh… she looks like this now. What’s her age? Maybe 22 or 24. Her profile picture shows that she is wearing a lab coat. But why’s she wearing a lab coat?”

Bill entered Angela’s account. Angela didn’t lock her f*******: account because she is a doctor, she thought that it would help people to find her. So, Bill easily checked all of Angela's information. He saw that Angela was a doctor in WE CARE hospital at Florida. He was shocked.

“What?? She is a doctor! At such a great hospital? But how? How does a traumatized & mentally sick girl become a doctor?”

“I clearly remember, Angela was almost a mentally sick girl when she and her mother left our house. Her mother also threatened to sue me for what I did to Angela. Although later she did not file a case against me.”

Bill was deep in thought. Everything seemed strange to him. But he was determined to find out Angela’s motive no matter what. He started digging into Angela’s profile more carefully. After scrolling for a while, a post caught Bill’s eye. The caption was,

“ I am very happy to rebuild this hospital to serve the poor & helpless people with their own funding.”

Bill was shocked to see that Green Life Hospital had been rebuilt by Angela.

“ That hospital! Why did she rebuild that hospital? Then she should know everything about that hospital, including the incident of that night!”

Bill’s suspicions went one step further. Bill saw another post about that hospital.

“ This hospital provides services to needy people at a very low cost. So no patient coming to this hospital will return without treatment.”

Bill got the point. “ Yes! She knew about that incident! Her this post is proof that she knew everything about my deeds. So why does she want to sell her property to me after all this?

Bill poured some wine into the glass & took a sip. His shrewd brain had already tipped him off that Angela was playing a trick on him. Bill began to think,

“ This is a trap! I shouldn’t believe her so easily. I have to find out what’s going on her mind, her motive. Maybe she’s trying to trap me for revenge. After all I did with her, I’m definitely sure that she wants to take revenge on me!”

On the hand, Angela was so happy. Angela almost assumes that her mission has succeeded, and manages to trap Bill in her web. But she didn’t know that Bill already read her mind. Angela was caught in the middle of both Andrew and Bill's suspicions.

Angela was doing meditation one night. Angela had been doing that to control her fear & panic attack so she could face Bill fearlessly. She was in the deep of meditation. Just then, Andrew secretly appeared in Angela’s room to check her activity. Andrew saw Angela was doing meditation.

“Oh, why is she doing this? I haven’t seen her doing meditation before. What’s the reason for doing it suddenly? Really, there are some changes in her behavior.”

Angela had finished her meditation. She saw Andrew. “ Hey, baby. When did you appear? I was doing meditation.”

“Yeah, I saw that. Since when did you start to do meditation?”

“Just a few days ago. I learned about it & thought that I should do it for both my health & happiness.”

“For happiness? Aren't you happy with me? What made you unhappy?” Andrew suspiciously asked Angela.

“Baby, why are you talking like that? Of course, I’m happy with you. I just learned about it & I found it interesting. So that’s why I started to do it. But I’m noticing that you are continuously doubting me. Why baby? Don’t you trust me? Angela was emotional.

“Hey, no it’s not like that. I trust you, Angela. But recently I noticed some changes in your behavior, so I was worried about you. You know, I lost my loved ones. I don’t want to lose you!.” Andrew hugged Angela.

“I know Andrew, but please don’t overthink. It will harm our relationship. Ok?”

“ OK, my love.”

Andrew gave a passionate kiss to Angela. Angela loved it when Andrew kissed Angela. Angela felt that she had been kissed not by a spirit but by a human being. But in her heart she was very upset about not telling Andrew the truth.

Bill finds out the truth:

The next morning, Bill decided to check whether the property really existed or not. He knew the address. So, he went there. The property was in New York. Angela used to live in New York with her family. So getting there was easier for Bill. Bill reached his destination after about an hour. He saw the property was there, but it was in the name of another company.

“So I was right! She is playing with me.”

Bill went to the nearby land office to be more sure and inquired about the property. The truth came out like daylight.

“ Sir, this property is no longer in Angela Mulgannon’s name. She sold the property to another company about 6 months ago. Here, take a look at these documents.”

Bill checks all the documents carefully. Finally, Bill is sure that Angela has indeed sold her property. Bill came back from the land office fuming with anger.

“How dare you, Angela! You tricked me. What do you think I’m stupid, I can’t understand anything? You can’t do this to me. Now just wait & see what I’m going to do with you!”

Bill started to drive the car. He thought that he should teach Angela a good lesson. He was planning how to do it. When Bill got home, he called Angela & he behaved like he knew nothing about her plan.

Angela’s phone rang. She picked up the phone & saw Bill was calling her. At first Angela got nervous. But she controlled her nervousness & answered the call.

“Hello”

“Hello Angela. I want to tell you that I can’t meet you this week. I have other important work to do & I’m very busy these days. Whenever I'm free, I’ll inform you.”

“ OK, it’s not a problem. I understand.

“ OK."

Bill hung up the phone. Angela quickly ran into her room. She took her medicine. Angela survived the panic attack. She was breathing heavily.

“ I’m so lucky that I remembered to take this medicine that day, otherwise I would have become psycho again. Thank God! It’s really hard to deal without it!"

“Yeah, you are right. You should thank me because you remembered that because of me!”

Angela’s eyes were widened. She was scared, she swallowed slowly. She looked back & saw that Andrew was standing behind her.

“ I remind you one more thing now, that is you’re taking trauma & panic attack curing pill instead of vitamin pills.”

Angela saw Andrew was holding a bottle of her medicine. The cover of the bottle wasn’t torn.

“Wh… where did you find this Andrew?”

“ I was searching for something that cleared my doubts. I have been suspicious of you for a long time. I have noticed a strange restlessness in you, a strange change in your behavior. It didn’t seem natural to me. So I kept an eye on you, but couldn’t find anything. But today, when you were in the hospital, I found this bottle inside the cupboard, which clearly says that this medicine is for mental disorders.”

“Then I checked the cupboard more carefully & found these prescriptions which were for your mental disorders. I became totally sure that you were hiding from me a big truth about you. Tell me why you lied to me, why did you hide the truth from me?”

“I… I didn’t…”

Angela’s breathing became heavier. She was extremely nervous. Angela became very short of breath. At one point, she fainted.

“Angela! Angela.”

Andrew took Angela in his arms & went upstairs. He laid Angela down on her bed. He didn’t expect that Angela would react like that.

Angela regained consciousness. She opened her eyes slowly.

“Hey. Are you OK baby?” Andrew asked Angela in a gentle voice.

Angela didn’t answer. She was crying. Andrew took her hand & gave a kiss.

“Are you angry with me? I’m sorry baby.”

“Why did you do that? You promised me that you would never doubt me again. But, you still doubt me!”

“ I said I’m sorry. I don’t know what happened to me. But it’s true that you hide your mental health condition from me. Why would you do that?"

“ I thought that if I told you about my mental disorder, you'd be more concerned about me. So, I thought it would be better to hide it from you. But now I realize that I shouldn't do that to you. I'm so sorry for hiding the truth, Andrew. Would you please forgive me?"

“Are you kidding, baby? Of course, I forgive you, it’s okay. But how did you get such a serious mental disorder? Because when we met, you seemed like a normal & heathy child to me."

Angela was confused about what to explain to Andrew. Angela had no intention of telling Andrew about Bill no matter what.

“Yeah, you're right. It’s a long story. I didn't have the mental disorder when I was born. I had a really tough childhood. Do you remember I told you about my family, my parents? I had a really tough childhood. My dad’s first wife. She could not tolerate me and my mom at all, she was very jealous of us. She always used to create conflict between my parents.”

“And because of that conflict, my parents used to fight a lot. My father was a very angry man. So he used to beat my mom a lot during quarrels. I still remember mom used to cry in pain. I used to watch that scene from a distance and cry. I was a sensitive girl. I used to get very depressed watching them since my childhood. At one point, I became a mental patient because of all of that.”

“So you see, that’s the reason for my mental disorder.”

“Oh my God! Sorry you have to go through all of that, my love.”

“If I were to marry you and be your husband, I would never raise my hand to you. I always covered you with a blanket of love, as I try to do now.”

Andrew & Angela were embracing each other. Angela felt so guilty for lying to Andrew. Her mind was whispering,

“ Oh my God! Andrew believes me so much but I lied to him. God please forgive me! I’m doing all this just for you Andrew. Just for you. If I told you my real past, you would know everything about Bill. I can’t let that happen. Please forgive me…

“What can I do for you baby? So that you can forget all of these & get back to normal. Please just ask, I can do anything for you!” Andrew asked.

“ You already did, baby. You see, when you came into my life I was so happy with you that I totally forgot that I had a mental disorder. You just stay with me & keep me happy all the time. That’s enough for me.”

“Hmm… I see you’re copying my words.”

“Yeah I think so.”

Andrew & Angela were both laughing. They were very happy. But there was a big twist waiting for them.
