Prolongue
My favorite time of day was in the morning. I woke up to the sound of birds chirping, a brilliant sky, and the sun's rays shining on my face. I've woken up like way every day for the past thirteen years, and I've enjoyed it. It's a feeling I wouldn't swap for anything. Well, aside from my mother's tender kisses and hugs, it played a significant role in my morning. Regretfully, I didn't anticipate that today would be different. I woke up to screams. The door of my room was banged on loudly. I frowned as I sat up in bed. At the door, who was it? And why, when it wasn't even morning, were they banging so loudly? I had to use my hands to find my way to the entrance and through the dark room. My vision wasn't the best as a young pup who hadn't yet received her wolf.
I hit my toenail on the bed and swore. I moaned and bit my lip, mama! If she heard me curse, would she live for eternity? I hurried to the door as the beating on it persisted. The door was pushed open as soon as I turned the lock. My mother's maid, Cece, rushed in. "Be quick. Cece hurriedly exclaimed, "We have to leave," and attempted to take my hand. "What's happening, CeCe? "What about Mama?" I asked, attempting to avoid her.
"Time is of the essence. She pulled me out of the room and said, "We have to leave now." I staggered to keep up with her. The hallway was lined with bright lights. She dragged me along as she hurried, pleading with me. She retreated behind the wall, covering my lips and keeping us out of sight when we heard some voices. Before they rushed passed us, I heard a loud voice say, "Search for them here." She dragged me out as soon as they left, and we kept racing. The living room was disorganized.
The room was covered in dead bodies. What was happening? Where are brother Simon, mother, and father? A man saw us and ran out of the room. Cece took an attacking stance and shoved me behind her. I stood in the corner and they battled. I hoped I could assist her, but I lacked the necessary skills. She cut his throat and sunk her claws into his eyes as he stabbed her in her right arm. "Come on," she said, holding onto her arm as she rushed ahead. I tried to keep up with her as I rushed after her. We ran into the open compound.
A great battle was in progress. Cece was trying to yank me away when I tried to find my mother. We dashed into the edge of the woodland, through the throng of fighting and dead bodies. The trees were tall and the meadows were overgrown. She fell next to a tree, embracing me and covering my mouth with her arm. Everything fell silent as there was a great roar. Before a man with his back to us, three people were kneeling. Brother Simon, Mama, and Papa were all kneeling. I attempted to move, but I was restrained by Cece's strong arm. Their heads fell to the ground as he swung his razor-sharp sword into the air. Her hands closed tightly around my lips as I struggled to scream. The excruciating pull on my heart. I gasped in surprise when the man who killed them turned around. My uncle was the one. Why? How? The final one, "Find the last one and kill it"? As we rushed more and farther into the forest, Stella dragged me away from that point.
I have been on the run for eight years now. Even though my head was pounding painfully, I knew I couldn't sleep there for fear of being discovered by the pack's guards, who would likely put me in jail and have me executed. After he killed my parents and my older brother, the alpha and luna of the pack, my evil uncle seized control of the pack that had previously been everything to me. A month after we fled from my pack, Cece, my mother's maid, passed away.
Roaming wolves attacked us. She died in the process of saving my life. The poisoned dagger she had been stabbed with at the old pack had already left her weak. There was no possibility for her. Although I was fortunate enough to be spared from those rogues, it was terrible to watch her go. Hell has been the only thing in my life. As I ran, the leaves crumpled beneath my feet, and I could feel my muscles failing, but I had to keep going until I was out of this area.
I slowed down a little because I could smell a deer close and my stomach was rumbling loudly from hunger. I couldn't recall the last time I had eaten. When I finally captured the deer, I prepared myself. As I dug in, I heard a noise to my right, and a large brown wolf appeared in front of me. It was quite large, but its aura lacked the authority of an Alpha, so I assumed it was a Beta. Since it was now late and I couldn't flee, I decided to fight; even if they were to take me at last, at least I fought. Our wolves spent some time circling one another.
The large brown wolf snarled its fangs and sprang at me. After a period of snapping at one another, the large wolf nipped my legs, causing my wolf to let out a loud cry of pain. As my consciousness faded, I reverted to my human form because I was so exhausted and worn out. "Rogue" was the last word I heard.
