2 He Was Half-naked

Tara didn't know what to make of the scene that had played out before her. She thought that the two knew each other somehow, and didn't like each other very much. If there was bad blood between her two assistants, it would make her job more complicated than it should be. Regardless, she shook her head and moved on, and assigned a desk for Gina that was next to her.  After she told Gina to familiarize herself with the magazine's website, Tara headed to the bathroom as well. When she opened the door, she heard two women in the middle of gossiping. "I heard that the new intern has a strong background, she is the daughter of the Fuller Family," The first woman commented. "If that is the case, I'm sure that the position will go to Gina this year. Rena is out of the question," the other responded. "Why? Gina's educational background isn't impressive, and all she has is a high school diploma." "That's not important. Not only is she the daughter of the Fuller family, but she is Ethan's niece, who is our managing editor. It wouldn't make a difference even if Rena were a Harvard grad, she can't compete with a person's background and stature." "Maybe. But, let's see if Tara has the guts to ridicule Ethan's niece. That would be interesting to see, wouldn't it?" After she heard enough, Tara walked purposefully into the washroom, and the two women went quiet. They finished washing their hands before they quickly left. That afternoon, Tara was given the task of conducting two interviews. She gave one to Rena to complete by herself and took Gina with her to the other one.  Rena's interview was set to take place in a conference room at a luxury hotel. The interview went off without a hitch, but as Rena was trying to find the exit to the massive hotel, she found herself a little lost. The floor that she was on had multiple conference rooms that were attached to numerous hallways. A few of the rooms had signed on the doors that displayed company names that Rena recognized, but she didn't have the guts to just walk into one of them to ask for directions. At the end of one of the halls, she saw a man in sunglasses stood outside a conference room. Rena realized that the man was Ethan Andrews, who was the managing editor at Weekender Magazine. She wouldn't have mistaken his slicked-back hair and pudgy frame. Then, a thin man exited the conference room and went right up to Ethan. Rena subconsciously hid in behind the closest corner she could find. The unknown man wrapped his arms around Ethan's neck and rubbed his face on his chest. He then reached up to nibble on Ethan's ears before he kissed him right on the lips. Rena couldn't believe what she saw, and she peeked around a corner. It wasn't often that she encountered a same-s*x couple expressing their love like this. With her heart pounding, she instinctually took out her phone to secretly photograph it.  However, the unknown man sensed that they were being watched and caught a glimpse of Rena. "Who's there?" the man shouted. Rena panicked and ran away in the other direction. She was far away from the elevator and didn't know where the stairs were. She bolted down the hallway to her right as the footsteps behind her got closer and closer, and saw that there was a single room at the very end that was slightly ajar. Rena ran into the room like a gust of wind and closed the door behind her, sighing in relief.  After her breathing calmed a little, she looked around and found a tall man standing in front of her. She got panic at the sight. The man's hair was damp, and he was wearing nothing but a towel. A couple of water droplets fell from his hair and cascaded down his bare chest and abs.  Rena blushed instantly and looked down at her feet.  "I'm so sorry, I..." she trailed off. The man took a few steps towards her and spoke. "You crossed paths with me again," he said.  His deep voice resonated within her, and Rena felt that it was familiar. When she raised her head, she saw that it was Leo Caswell who had spoken. His eyes were dim as his alluring lips curved into a wicked smile.  Mr. Caswell reached out and wrapped his arms around her, and Rena instinctively protected her chest with her arms. "What... do you want?" she asked tentatively. He looked at her, and his eyes fell on Rena's face. "Isn't it obvious?" he asked, his voice low and unnerving. Just before the man's lips were about to touch hers, Rena made her escape.  She tried to tickle his armpits, which caused him to loosen his hold. She bolted into the center of the room with her eyes widen. Leo was flabbergasted. He couldn't remember the last time anyone tried to tickle him, much less a fully-grown adult. He couldn't believe that Rena had resorted to such a childish tactic, and he was genuinely amused by it.  Rena's beautiful eyes were sharp. If she could shoot fire with her eyes, Leo would have been barbecued by now.  The two of them reached a stalemate, and Leo reached down to adjust his towel so that it wouldn't fall off. She blinked and took a step back, and he paused.  "What's the matter? Are you having bad thoughts?" Leo asked. Rena gasped and shook her head. Her face burned when she realized that he wasn't going to get naked like a pervert.  "You're an adult, yet you can barely handle it," he continued as he gestured to himself.  His voice was both evil and seductive, and just hearing his voice made Rena shiver.  Leo walked up to her and reached up to grab her chin. He made her look at the dark smile that was on his face.  "Mr. Caswell, I didn't mean to intrude in your hotel room. I... I..." Rena stammered. She didn't like this situation and wished she could go back in time. "Really?" he questioned in a voice full of doubt, and then he released his grip on her chin. Rena took her chance and started to head for the door. However, she didn't get far before a strong arm encircled her waist and brought her back.  Leo held her against his naked chest, and she squirmed.  The more Rena tried to escape, the tighter she was held.  Leo walked her over to a nearby sofa and pushed her down on to it and pressed his body against her. Rena tried to push him away, but both her hands were grabbed and held above her head. Before she got a chance to scream, her lips were sealed by his. He kissed her roughly, and there was no room for Rena to breathe. As she continued to struggle, her mind went blank.  The passionate kiss continued along the corner of the mouth to her chin and moved down. When he began to kiss her neck, she stopped struggling. Leo stopped and looked up at Rena, finding that she was quietly crying. He immediately let go of her. Judging from her reaction, it was evident that she never had a boyfriend before; otherwise, she wouldn't be this upset.
