Season 1 Episode 1 becoming a squier of gothonia
Her father smiled, his eyes twinkling with pride. "Well, my dear Raven, the path to knighthood is not a short one. Typically, a squire trains for about five years. During that time, you'll learn the skills you need—combat, horsemanship, and the code of honor that every knight must uphold." Raven's heart raced at the thought. "Five years? That seems like a long time!" she exclaimed, her excitement mingling with a hint of impatience. Her mother chimed in, "But think of all the adventures you'll have, the lessons you'll learn, and the friendships you'll make along the way. Each day will bring you closer to your dream." Raven nodded, her determination growing stronger. "I can do it! I’ll train hard and prove that I’m ready to be a knight." Her father placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I have no doubt you will, Raven. Just remember, being a knight is not just about strength and skill; it’s also about courage, kindness, and protecting those who cannot protect themselves." Raven took a deep breath, feeling the weight of her father's words. "I promise to make you both proud," she said, her voice steady. As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over their home, Raven felt a sense of purpose wash over her. She was ready to embark on this new journey, and nothing would stand in her way. As Raven drifted off to sleep, her mind was filled with visions of the training grounds, where she would learn the ways of a squire. She imagined herself wielding a wooden sword, practicing her stances, and perhaps even sparring with other young trainees. The thought of camaraderie and shared laughter with new friends filled her with warmth. In her dreams, she saw herself standing tall in shining armor, a proud knight of Gothonia, just like her father. She envisioned the day she would ride into battle, her heart pounding with excitement and bravery. But alongside the thrill of adventure, she felt a twinge of anxiety. What if the other squires didn’t like her? What if she wasn’t good enough? As the night wore on, Raven’s dreams shifted. She found herself in a lush forest, where she met a group of children her age, all dressed in tunics and armor. They welcomed her with open arms, and together they explored hidden paths, climbed trees, and shared stories of their hopes and dreams. In this dream world, she felt accepted and cherished, her worries melting away. Morning light filtered through her window, and Raven awoke with a start. The excitement of the day ahead surged through her. She quickly dressed, her heart racing with anticipation. After a quick breakfast, her parents walked her to the training grounds, where the sun shone brightly, illuminating the space where her dreams would soon become reality. As they approached, Raven spotted a group of children gathered around a tall, imposing figure—Sir Cedric, the master trainer. He was known for his fierce demeanor but also for his wisdom and skill. Raven took a deep breath, her heart pounding as she stepped forward, ready to embrace the adventure that awaited her. “Remember, Raven,” her father said, kneeling down to her level. “Be brave, be kind, and most importantly, be yourself. You’ll make friends in no time.” With a nod, Raven smiled at her parents, feeling their love and support. She stepped into the training area, her eyes wide with wonder. The other children turned to look at her, and for a moment, she felt a flutter of nerves. But then shew remembered her dream, the laughter and friendship she had found there. “Hi! I’m Raven!” she called out, her voice steady and bright. A few of the children smiled back, and one boy with tousled hair stepped forward. “I’m Leo! Want to practice together?” he asked, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. As the sun began to set, casting a warm golden glow over the playground, Raven and Leo continued their swordplay, their laughter echoing through the air. The other children had gathered around, some cheering them on while others took turns practicing their own moves. Raven, feeling a surge of confidence from her earlier victory, decided to try out some of the techniques she had seen her dad use. She remembered how he always emphasized the importance of footwork and balance. With a determined look, she shifted her stance, keeping her feet shoulder-width apart and her knees slightly bent. "Watch this!" she called out to Leo, who was still catching his breath from their last bout. She lunged forward, her sword aimed at his shoulder, but at the last moment, she pivoted and swung low, aiming for his legs. Leo barely managed to jump back in time, his eyes wide with admiration. "Nice move!" he exclaimed, grinning. "You’re getting really good at this!" Raven beamed at the compliment. "Thanks! My dad says that practice makes perfect. Want to try a few more moves together?" Leo nodded eagerly, and they began to practice different techniques, taking turns attacking and defending. They experimented with feints, parries, and counters, each trying to outsmart the other. The friendly competition pushed them both to improve, and soon they were moving in sync, their laughter mingling with the sounds of clashing foam swords. As the day wore on, they took a break, sitting on the grass to catch their breath. Raven looked up at the sky, now painted with hues of orange and pink. "I love practicing with you, Leo. It’s so much fun!" "Me too!" Leo replied, wiping the sweat from his brow. "I never thought I’d enjoy sword fighting this much. Your dad must be an amazing knight!" Raven nodded, her eyes sparkling with pride. "He is! He always tells me stories about his adventures. I want to be just like him one day." Leo smiled, inspired by her passion. "You will be! And I’ll be right there with you, fighting side by side." With renewed energy, they picked up their swords again, ready to face whatever challenges the imaginary battlefield had in store for them. The sun dipped below the horizon, but their spirits remained high, fueled by friendship and the thrill of adventure. "Sir Frederick?" Sir Cedric exclaimed, his voice a mix of awe and respect. "The legendary knight of Gothonia? I had heard tales of his prowess on the battlefield, but to think his daughter possesses such skill at such a young age is remarkable!" Raven, slightly bashful under the sudden attention, shrugged her shoulders. "He always said that practice makes perfect. I just try to keep up with him." The other trainees exchanged glances, their expressions a blend of admiration and envy. Leo, who had been sparring with Raven, stepped forward. "So, you’re saying you’ve been trained by one of the best? That’s incredible! I thought you were just naturally talented." Raven smiled, a hint of pride in her eyes. "I guess it helps to have a father who knows what he’s doing. He taught me everything I know, and I still have a lot to learn." Sir Cedric nodded, his mind racing with possibilities. "If you’ve already mastered level 2 knight skills, I can only imagine what you’ll achieve with more training. Perhaps I could offer you some additional lessons? It would be an honor to help refine your skills." Raven's eyes lit up at the suggestion. "Really? That would be amazing! I’d love to learn from you, Sir Cedric." The other trainees, now buzzing with excitement, began to gather around, eager to hear more about Sir Frederick and the training techniques he had passed down to Raven. Sir Cedric raised a hand to quiet them, a smile on his face. "Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Training is hard work, and it requires dedication. But if you’re all willing to put in the effort, I believe we can elevate everyone’s skills to new heights." With that, the atmosphere shifted from one of surprise to determination. The trainees, inspired by Raven’s lineage and Sir Cedric’s offer, began to discuss their own training goals, eager to push themselves further in their quest to become knights of Gothonia. As the trainees gathered around the long wooden table, the aroma of the evening's feast wafted through the air, mingling with the anticipation of the newcomers. Sir Cedric, with his warm smile and twinkling eyes, made his way to Raven, who was still adjusting to her new surroundings. "Welcome, Raven! It's time for dinner," he said, his voice inviting. "You have a choice tonight: roast beef or grilled mutton." Raven hesitated for a moment, glancing at the other trainees, who were watching her with a mix of curiosity and encouragement. Taking a deep breath, she replied, "I’ll have the grilled mutton, please." A ripple of surprise and admiration spread through the group. Leo, a seasoned trainee known for his playful banter, leaned forward with a grin. "Brave choice, Raven! No trainee in history has ever dared to eat grilled mutton. You must have a strong spirit!" Raven felt a flush of warmth at the compliment, her confidence bolstered by the camaraderie of her peers. Sir Cedric chuckled, clearly amused by the banter. "Indeed! It takes courage to try something new. Now, would you like steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes, or stuffing and pumpernickel bread to accompany your meal?" Raven thought for a moment, recalling the hearty meals her family used to prepare. "I’ll have the steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes, please," she decided, picturing the vibrant colors of the vegetables alongside the creamy potatoes. "Excellent choice!" Sir Cedric replied, jotting down her order. "You’ll find that our kitchen staff takes great pride in their cooking. I assure you, you won’t be disappointed." As the dinner preparations continued, Raven felt a sense of belonging begin to blossom within her. Surrounded by laughter and friendly chatter, she realized that this new chapter in her life was off to a promising start. The anticipation of the meal, combined with the warmth of her fellow trainees, made her feel more at home than she had expected. Raven beamed with pride as her father embraced her, feeling the warmth of his approval wrap around her like a comforting cloak. Sir Cedric continued, his voice steady and filled with admiration, "Raven has shown remarkable skill and dedication. Her progress has been nothing short of extraordinary, and I believe she is ready to take the next step in her training." Sir Frederick stepped back, his eyes shining with joy. "I always knew she had it in her," he said, glancing at Raven with a mixture of pride and affection. "You've worked so hard, my dear. This is just the beginning of your journey." Raven felt a rush of excitement at the thought of becoming a squire. She had dreamed of this moment for as long as she could remember, and now it was within her grasp. "Thank you, Sir Cedric," she said, her voice filled with determination. "I won’t let you down." Sir Cedric nodded, a smile playing on his lips. "I have no doubt about that, Raven. Your dedication and spirit will serve you well. But remember, being a squire is not just about skill with a sword; it’s also about honor, loyalty, and learning from those around you." Raven nodded, absorbing his words. She knew that the path ahead would be challenging, but she was ready to face whatever came her way. With her father by her side and Sir Cedric as her mentor, she felt more confident than ever. As the trainees continued to cheer, Raven took a moment to look around at her friends, all of whom had supported her throughout her training. She felt grateful for their encouragement and knew that they would all be there for each other as they continued to grow. "Let’s celebrate!" Sir Frederick exclaimed, clapping his hands together. "Tonight, we feast in honor of Raven’s achievements!" The trainees erupted in cheers once more, and Raven couldn’t help but smile. She was ready to embrace her future, and with the support of her father and Sir Cedric, she knew she was on the right path to becoming a great knight.
