Chapter Thirty-Four

1203 Words
Today, Sean invited me to go with them in a trade fair. He said Armin was coming as well so I might as well come. I told them I was going somewhere first – to go do my physical therapies and injections – so they waited for me in the gate. “What’s taking them so long?” Kevin frowned as he rubbed his temple in impatience. I thought I was the last comer but I wasn’t. “Look!” Sean pointed across the street and I could see Armin and William heading towards our direction. “Finally!” “Ahh! These twins are always up to something.” Kevin crossed his arms. “Let’s go!” Sean shouted as we headed to the location. When we reached there, I could already see the tall Ferris Wheel. I stared at it in awe. I have never rode one before and I don’t want to not because I’m afraid of height but because I was afraid of falling from heights. Sean dragged me to a lot of rides with Kevin. First, we rode the roller coaster – which was extremely terrifying. Then the horror train, after that, we went to the dancing disk. It was horrifying but it was fine because I had fun with them. “Come on guys! Let’s grab something to eat.” He exclaimed still dragging me with him as always. They left me in a table with four more chairs and I sighed. Ha. They dare leave a girl alone in a crowded place. “Hey, Julia.” I turned and saw William. Kevin claims that he is Armin’s twin and I don’t really think so. Sure, they’re cool and all but I see difference between them. “H-Hey.” He smiled taking the seat next to me. “Can I ask you something?” I nodded. “Yeah. Sure.” “You and Belle,” he started. Uh-oh. I’m getting a very bad feeling about this. “You two seem close.” I nodded. “Maybe. Why?” He chuckled and – woah – his voice was low. Even lower than I thought. This was the first time I’ve ever spoken to him and I feel the awkwardness. “Well, I have to ask you so be honest alright?” I chuckled. “Of course.” “Uh, she likes Armin, doesn’t she?” I froze. I observed his expression. It looked like he was just making some kind of a trap. He was looking at me like I should say the words he wanted me to say. “No.” I shook my head. “I told you not to lie.” He smirked. Maybe now they were twins. They had the same smirk. “Why? Does it bother you?” I suddenly asked. “Yes. She does like him. I was actually surprised because she wasn’t the type of person who would fall for someone like him.” He sighed. I frowned as I studied his expression. “Uh-oh.” I raised a brow and he looked at me nervously. I leaned back to my chair. “Don’t tell me you actually like h—?” “N-No. I never said that.” He crossed his arms. I teasingly smirked. Acting like a detective felt so good. “I was supposed to say, don’t tell me you actually like hello kitty.” His eyes widened. I pointed at watermark in his handkerchief. “It’s funny how you sounded so defensive, William?” “Hello Kitty. Oh. Well,” his eyes shook and I grinned. “You like Ysabelle?” He turned to me in shock. His mouth was open but words were stuck in his throat. “Oh my God, William, you do like her!” I crouched back when he suddenly pushed his palms over my poor mouth. I removed them away and furrowed my brows with a pout. “And you don’t have to tell the whole world, you know?” I chuckled. “Don’t worry. I won’t tell her. Besides, she’s pretty likable. It’s normal for you to like her.” He smiled. “But I didn’t say I like her though.” “Ah! Really? You don’t have to tell the whole world and such violent reactions.” He chuckled turning to me. “Now I know why Armin describes you like that.” I frowned and turned to Armin who was busy ordering. He was looking at our table. “What was he saying about me? Is he talking bad about me?” He shrugged. “Nothing in particular.” He looked away. “He’s turning into a jellybean again. His coming this way.” He whispered. I frowned when he suddenly appeared in front of us. I stared at him then blinked. Jellybean? Sloppy, he means? That was fast. “What were you two talking about?” William chuckled and leaned back to his chair. “Nothing. Except that you were mocking me behind my back.” I creased my brows at him. He glared at William who kept giggling. “Believe me, man. I haven’t told her anything yet when you came.” Armin turned back to me. “But you were gonna tell her something?” “Julia!” I looked at Armin’s back and saw Sean running with ice cream in his hand. He sat next to me and handed me one. “Thank you.” I smiled. He smiled back. “You know. Now that I’m about to finish the puzzle, there’s actually two.” “Two?” I asked confused. “Two boys.” He winked and started eating his ice cream.   When we left the trade fair, we directed back to the campus after receiving individual messages from Jared. Speaking of Jared, I suddenly remembered that little moment we had the other night. I smiled. I feel bombs in my empty stomach. I was surprised when a hand ran through my face. I turned to Armin with a frown. “You’re smiling by yourself again.” “Well, not now, dofus.” He chuckled. “I wonder why he suddenly gave us orders again.” I shrugged as we entered the house. The moment we stepped in, we went to our own businesses. Jared told me to go to work on the papers that were in my room. I followed his order and indeed, the papers were there, a lot of them. I sighed and closed the door to my room. After a couple of minutes, I stretched my back and grabbed my bag. I opened up the envelope Dr. McKinley gave me. My blood tests were there, lung function test results and my x-ray. I sighed in disbelief. “What did I do to deserve this, dad?” I sighed and everything went black.
