Chapter Twenty-Three

“—with Min, so it’s cool.” I stopped walking when I heard my name. I turned and saw a room that was filled with about five students. I leaned closer to the door and saw Joshua and Julia talking to each other. Seeing them chatting with each other comfortably makes me want to crush the can in my hand. I creased my brows. “I know. But I invited you last night to you know, hang out with you.” Nye nye nye nye. Lame. Typical. “I wanted to know you better.” Joshua obviously liked her. By the way he looks and talks to her, he’s as if –  “Don’t look at me like that.” “What? Why?”  “It makes me uneasy.” The way they were exchanging romantic glares, the way Julia looks all shy and girly in front of him! – I began to feel anger in my head. I was first. “Julia,” No. “I want to take you out.” No. I looked at Julia’s expression and she was awfully shocked. Shocked in a very good way. I knew her. She was going to— I turned to avoid seeing her nod. “Armin.” I looked up and saw Ysabelle standing in front of me with her usual wide smile. “H-Hey, Belle. What made you come here? Are you on a research or survey today?” I waved at her and forced to lift my lips for a smile. My heart was burning in pain and hatred. I knew my anger wouldn’t last that long for he was a part of my brotherhood after all. She peeped through the room I was standing at. She then smiled. “You must be checking on Julia, huh?” “A-Ah! No.” I crinkled my nose and looked down the floor. “Why would I do that?” I chuckled and looked at Joshua and Julia now laughing at each other. Huff. “By the way, our professor told me that we did a great job on our presentation. He wanted us to work on the lecture he was going to discuss but he said he wouldn’t be here the following month so he asked me if we could do the discussion for the class.” “Y-Yeah. That’s cool.” I nodded not looking at her. I agreed once again. I was too focused on the fact that the girl I like was flirting with a guy I know. “Are you okay? You stammered a lot right now.” I nodded. “Yeah. I’m fine. Thanks.” I answered trying hard not to let my voice shiver. “Great! We’ll start preparing this weekend then.” “Ahuh.” I nodded once. She was a pretty clingy person if you ask. Though all students highly respected her, it wasn’t enough for me to force myself to like her and forget everything I loved about— “Look at the time. Woah.” I looked at my watch and stepped aside. “Better go. I wouldn’t want to miss my first afternoon class.” I started walking away trying to avoid her. “Okay. Be careful!” she exclaimed and I turned back with a smile to rest assure her. Don’t get me wrong. I do like Ysabelle but as a friend. I didn’t want to hurt her feelings if ever she liked me more than what I treat her so if possible, I wanted to distance myself to her which is not working. That afternoon, I was following Julia. I wanted to check if she’s really visit her doctor and it’s a relief that she actually did something productive. When I learned that she had this ADA1? I don’t know what it’s called but that, yes, I wanted to take responsibility since I was the only person she can run into. I stepped away from the bush— “Hey!”
