Harper's POV
The pain I felt was so intense I felt like dying so that I would be numb to it. Damon held my right hand to assure me that he was right beside me.
I didn't know that pushing was that hard or I'd have prepared myself for it.
"You are doing great, Harper. Just one last push and you'll be holding your baby in less than an hour," The oldest nurse promised and lips stretched into a smile.
The fact that I was going to carry my child at the end of it all was the only motivation I needed to push again. It was hard but I shut my eyes and mustered all the energy I didn't know I had in me and immediately the cries of my baby rang out.
"It's a girl," The midwife announced and my heart leaped for joy.
I gasped in surprise then realized that it was finally over. "We did it," I cried w
