DEREK'S POV I should have known better than to allow those good for nothing things I call my friend speak to me in such a degrading manner. To even think they spoke thrash of Arielle. A great wave of anger swept through me and I almost found myself walking from within them. The anger I felt had eaten deep into me, leaving me without an iota of calmness. "You should take a chill pill, Derek. We're only looking out for you and your reputation. I can't honestly believe that you are doing this…" "Doing what?" I Snapped, ready to bury a punch right at the center of his face.. "Geez! You do know what I'm talking about. How could you be going out with someone like her? I mean, She's classless and doesn't have a Shape to begin with. She's not Beautiful as well." "And did I come to lay complaints to you, Nelson or to anyone else?" I shrieked, clenching my hands into fists, my heart thumping heavily against my chest. "Come on… you shouldn't…" "To hell with you and whatever you want to say?" I Slammed, moving closer to him. Goodness knows I would have buried a punch in his face if the distance between us was a few inches. "Can you both stop arguing about this? We are friends and we shouldn't be fighting. And to you, Nelson, it's his life and his Choice. You can't make a choice for him, can you? You should let him be." "Exactly! Let me be. I'm tired of you all complaining about my relationship with Arielle." "It's fine. Can we head to the class now?" Another said and immediately, I stormed out of the empty class we had gone to. Not once did it cross my mind that I might be missing out on something important while I stood with my friends. I turned the doorknob and it was at that moment reality dawned on me. "Damn it! He's here already," I said in a low whispering voice to my friends who were beside me but somehow, I wasn't perturbed. I stole a glance at my wristwatch and realized there was a whole lot of time before class started. "Why then is he here this early when it isn't time?" I took a deep breath, straightened up and began the walk to my seat. "And where do you think you're heading to, young man? Are you a new student?" His voice echoed through the classroom. My friends shivered, their hands shaking uncontrollably but I stood still. "Good morning sir. Are you a new teacher?" I slammed right at him, leaving him dumbstruck. He was flabbergasted and couldn't believe I had just asked him that. Realizing I was gaining the upper hand, I thrusted on. "If you aren't you should know me." The entire class erupted in noise, whispers and mumbles flying around. A flush of anger swept through the math teacher and goodness knows he could Strangle me that very moment if given a chance. I stood gallantly, looking quite unperturbed. "One condition and you can enter my class. If you fail to fulfill the condition then you would have to leave with your Entourage of fools." The entire class laughed again. An evil smirk formed on my lips as I glared right into his eyes. "Bring it on. I'm ready. But then if I answer the question correctly, what will you do in return?" "I'll allow you all into the class…" My brow creased as I wasn't satisfied with his words. I had to think of something more satisfying than just entering the class. An idea struck me. "If I answer your question properly then you will pack your things and leave the class, are we on the same page?" Over Forty pairs of eyes stared at me, wondering what had suddenly come over me that made me speak in such a condescending manner but then I didn't give a damn about what some of them thought. My eyes locked with Arielle's. Her validation was all I needed, not one from those scrawny Bitches. She grinned widely at me, blushing like a new bride. That was enough validation for me. The teacher began scribbling on the board and didn't stop until two minutes later. My eyes rested on the board after he was done and I couldn't help but burst into laughter. It was a sarcastic laugh that ate deep into his pride and ego. "Such a simple task for me?" I sneered and blurted out the answer, leaving him in awe. He was flabbergasted as well as a strong wave of embarrassment washed over him. "I hope you didn't forget our agreement, sir." A sinister look did I fix on him as I spoke. He frowned as he packed his books from the pulpit and then walked out of the class, his hands Clenched into fists. I could see the joy on the faces of everyone and I couldn't help but feel like a hero. Math classes were terrific enough and then topping that is a terrific teacher. Puff. "You did well, Derek. Thanks so much." "Wow! How did you manage to pull that? That was genius of you." "We know you've always been intelligent but today, you left us enthralled." Compliments flew from every corner of the class, leaving me with smiles. Soon, I grew bored with it as I Wanted to do nothing but speak to Arielle, but with each step I took towards her, I was blocked by people who Wanted to speak to me. Unable to bear it longer, I shoved one of them to the sides and went off to her. She had a placid expression that left me confused. The excitement I had seen in her eyes a few seconds ago had vanished into thin air. "What's the problem? Why do you have this sullen expression on your face?" I inquired, my brows creased. I placed a hand on her cheek and goodness knows the feeling that swept through me at that touch was one I had never felt in a while. But strangely, she didn't feel excited by my touch. "I and everyone else have always known you to be a genius but I think you shoving it in the teacher's face and treating him that way isn't right." "For real? I didn't realize that. I just didn't want to look like a fool in front of the entire class. Do you think I should apologize to him?" "Yes, I think you should do that. He must be feeling so bad at the moment and that's not so good." "Alright. I'll go see him in his office. Are we cool now?" I asked, smiling at her. "Of course, we are. I never had an issue with you." "Thank you. By the way, are you free after school today?" "Yes I am. Why do you ask?" She rolled her eyes with enthusiasm and like she already knew what I was going to talk about.. "Would you like to visit me at home? I'd like to show you around." "Really? That's cool. I'd love to come." "So are you coming?" She paused a few seconds but it felt like an entire year before me. "Of course." The moment she uttered those last words, an evil smirk formed on my face. If only…
