With that she gave me one last pitiful look, to which I reacted with a full blown smile to assure her it was all okay, then she ran up the stairs wiping her tears and not looking back. As soon as I heard her door slam shut, I slowly stood up and turned around to face my so called "parents".

...There goes my patience...

I felt the anger rush through me and set off at my head, I badly wanted to hurt them, but if I did it would mean t*****e for Lilly. Therefore, I calmly sat down, my face still dripping with blood, my back sore from the glass with shards that still attacked me with every move, I raised my hand pointing to the seats in front of me, beckoning them to take a seat...

After they were seated I started "I'll leave..."

"Oh finally, and good riddance-" John commented, but I wasn't finished

"On one condition..."

"YOU THINK YOU CAN MAKE THE DECISIONS  IN THIS HOUSE, YOU PIECE OF-"

"I can always call the police, if that's what you would prefer Mary..." I smirked, I knew they weren't going to retaliate to that. They always knew I could call the police and they would be rotting in jail with no effort from my side, It's not like I would mind going to an orphanage, I only have one year left till I'm 18 anyway. However, I don't want to put Lilly through having to go to an orphanage and struggle for attention and love. What if her next parents would be worse, Wha would I do then? We most definitely wouldn't be picked together in one family, I mean, who would want a 17 year old. Thus I won't ever call the police...

But they don't know thatttt. Might as well take advantage right?

"You can't get away with what you did... You ruined everything for us!"

I guess I should explain why I'm being forced to go to a boarding school... A few days ago, we all went to some stupid business party where all the pretty perfect ladies and all the rich, loaded men agreed to show up to. My parents had to work really had to reach out to them and this party was meant to make them their business partners but it didn't quite go as planned... 

Lilly had to go to the toilet so she kept bugging Mary to take her, that's what any kid does it's natural... but Mary ohhh she got mad because she was trying to seal a business deal with an important dealer. She grabbed Lilly's hand so hard that Lilly shrieked, her hand was red and was surely gonna bruise later... Everyone looked to see why some little girl screamed like that then Mary went ahead and blew it off as a child tantrum, that's when I came in and tore Lilly away from her... True I got a bit angry and blurted, " Get away from her you good for nothing mother!" A bit too harsh I know but considering the fact that I knew what harmful things Mary could do, it was completely justified...

That leads us to this...

"Fine, anyway when you're gone we won't even get mad. You're the only reason we became like this. You tore this family apart... Always remember that." John said in such a low voice it actually hurt...

Is that what they truly believe... but I didn't do anything. I was always so obedient, I never questioned anything, only after Lilly was born did I start rebelling, I prefer calling it protecting.

Two hours later I had finished my packing and was just zipping up when I heard a tiny knock on my door.

"Come in Lilly"

I turned around just as Lilly opened her door and saw her eyes completely red and puffy. She must have been crying a lot, I don't blame her... I don't want her to have to live like this. She deserves so much better.

 "Are you really going?" Lilly asked, her lips quivering.

"I'm afraid so baby" 

I lay down on my bed and opened my arms, gesturing her to come and lay down with me. She slowly walked to me, sniffling. We both lay, in silence waiting for sleep to overcome us.

"I'll always protect you Lilly" I whispered just as everything went black...
