I ran over to Aidan's house and was stopped by the guards; they mind-linked him before letting me pass, because I was in a hurry and needed to know if he would help me. Roman is going to kill me and probably Kyan, and I can't have that; Aidan was in the gym, and I ran down there. He was working out, kickboxing with a sandbag, and he asked, "What do I owe this visit? It's not our scheduled meeting," without looking up at me. I said, "I need help, Aidan," and he turned around, walked over to me, and kissed me, as I inhaled his intoxicating scent. He said, "Miss you too; now speak, tell me what I need to help you with," and I closed my eyes, leaning into his arms because his scent was stronger, and it was harder to fight the bond, so we just let it take over. I said, "Roman will know about the affair," and he looked at me and asked, "How? I was in an intense meeting with my shareholders; we were bleeding a lot of money, someone was deliberately sabotaging us, and I needed results and fast. Erik caused all of this with his f**k up; he should have known better when it came to Addy, and now she lives on enemy territory. Alpha Ares is my enemy, and I believe he is behind all of this, but without proof, we couldn't do anything, especially since my daughter is mated to his brother. I had asked Axel to get me some spies on his land; I need to know what goes on there and what drives his power. I was going to confront Lily; I need the truth from her, because she is never leaving me, or I swear, I will end her and Kyan; I will refuse to give him the throne until I prove he is loyal to me and my cause. My hands shook because I was losing my patience with everyone, and nightmares about my best friends had been haunting me; why now?
