Chapter 19: Free Sophia

Sophie

I started to panic thinking about my babies and Spence; I didn't know what to do because Aidan would kill me, and Seth wouldn't care. I wanted to shout the truth from the mountain tops, but I was too ashamed; I didn't want them to know the hell I was put through for an alliance because of my father. I didn't want them to remember the broken Sophie and how I failed them; I hated everyone who subjected me to this life, and if it weren't for my babies and Spence, I would have ended it all. I cried out for my mother when I saw Drax coming towards me. I knew she was no help, but in fear, I called out to her anyway; she was just a pond in court; women had no say but to obey, and I felt Noelle accept our death, knowing Spence would get my daughter out. I trusted my man completely; my mother stood before me, begging her mate to let me explain.

Kyan was ready to fight for me as he always did, no matter what, and Issy was threatening to leave her mate if he harmed me. He mind-linked me, "I won't let my father harm you; please tell me what happened," and I held on to his hand for dear life, my heart beating faster. I was so lucky to have her and Kyan in my corner, but I needed someone to Alpha Command me so that I could talk; I wanted Seth gone, and if only they knew the truth. Aidan said, "Explain yourself, Sophie, and be sure to understand this," and he looked at everyone in the room, saying, "Someone is dying today." Seth walked over to me and held my hand in a loving manner that I hated, but I was too defeated even to fight him, and he said, "Go on, tell the truth," I wiped my eyes and said, "I was threatened, my lord, they planned on killing my kids, I had no choice, please don't kill me," as I bowed my head.

Seth mind-linked me, saying, "Good girl, keep it up," when Ty asked, "Who threatened you?" I bowed my head again, saying, "It was," and I stopped swallowing my saliva, knowing full well this could kill an innocent man when Aidan said, "Go on, Sophie." "It was Amon," Danielle said, "Lies, he would never threaten children," Amon said, "No, I never, my lord, you can read me if you want, I'm not lying." I looked at my stepfather, who was hell-bent on killing me, as I shifted the blame to Amon, "I am sorry that this will probably cost him his life, but I have no choice," I thought. Kyan looked at Seth and growled, reciving a link from someone, he looked like he wanted to punch him badly. I hate this, and I want to beg for forgiveness. My mother looked broken and disappointed in me, and Kyan looked at me as if he were ashamed of me. Issy mind-linked me, yelling, "Why would you do this?"

I blocked her because I was a failure in their eyes, and I needed to get home to my family, but then Aidan asked the million-dollar question, "What are the Supreme Three powers?" I heard everyone's answers, and I was scared until Elijah asked, "What is the most important one?" Looking at me, then Seth, and then it hit me, they already knew the truth through my blood; I closed my eyes, as I was so dead. However, I was glad that they saw what a giant asshole Seth was, and he would die right along with me, and my kids would be saved. Kyan pulled me away from Seth as they locked eyes; I felt the aura of the true king, and Seth's shoulders shifted under the weight of it. Aidan stopped him and we looked at him becasue I was right; they already knew, and I only had one wish, to say goodbye to my family and Spencer.

I knew something was up when we were summoned to the throne room, where my father was waiting; something wasn't right, and I told Fallon, "Hurry up, something is off." Seth stood next to Sophie, and she was scared out of her mind when my father dropped the bombshell on us. My mother was quick to defend her, and so was Isssy, who fought her mate not to kill our sister, but then Toffe handed my father the dagger. I jumped in front of Aidan and said, "Dad, don't, I beg you," and he looked at me, holding back his anger, and I mind-linked him, "Fallon is bringing me proof that Seth is behind everything; he has to be, Sophie wouldn't do this, please Dad." He replied, still looking at Seth and Sophie, "I know it's Seth, play along, I would never harm my daughter, no matter what, plus there is so much more that happened, we will talk after his execution."

I was happy he had accepted Sophia and Issy as his daughters, so I let everything play out, even finally punching that asshole, especially now that Roman was a fugitive. Seth helped him escape, and I never liked him; I tolerated him for Sophie's sake, but now I know that was a huge mistake, and I should have challenged Roman earlier and taken the crown. Later, I went to Sophia's room, and she was crying in my mother's arms; she looked at me and called me over, and I got into bed as she cried her eyes out at the abuse she endured. Toffe showed us everything, and I wanted to kill that son-if-b***h all over again; how could he do this to her right under our noses? When my mother said, "Stay with her, this isn't over, I want that pack gone, how dare they abuse my daughter?" She left to interrupt my father's meeting, one of the only people who can, and I hummed Sophia's lullaby, the one I used to sing when they were young pups, and she drifted off to sleep.

I went over to her kids' room, and they were asleep; they felt their dad die, so Lexi gave them something to ease the void, and I looked at her and smiled. Lexi said, "I want a pup, Ky," and I smiled, saying, "You will have one, my love," kissing her soft lips. Fallon mind-linked me, and I left her to stay with the kids; however, Sophia's youngest was still at that pack, and I hope she was safe until we reach there. I met up with Fallon and King Dragu; they were filling me in on the whereabouts of Roman, and we had no solid lead since Drax took off after him before returning. He had fled to Rogueland, and since there was some magic around the territory, it was hard to pinpoint him right now. My father said that he would focus on Roman after he dealt with Sophia's old pack, and I will wait until it's time to avenge her.

After Lily requested to wipe Sophie's old pack off the map, I was inclined to do so; what happened to Sophie should never have happened, and Ky wanted to do it himself, but I wanted to do it. Ty had his men, and so did Barron take the pack under house arrest, so I could get rid of the bad apples. I saw what was in Sophie's memories, and she loved Spence because of her trauma; her true mate bond was blocked with Barron. Kyan was going over the financial books and ensured that the new rules for the pack were followed; he was still working with Dragu, and then it was time to fix this broken pack. Ty started the ball rolling, and everyone saw we weren't there to play; they understood the rumors were true. We were back, and those who harmed my daughter will be punished harshly; they humiliated and abused Sophia, and that didn't sit well with me.

I killed their Beta and Seth's mistress in my anger, and as Tommen read the names of the guards who abused Sophie, they looked at me, and one said, "My lord, what did we do?" I said, "You all have been found guilty of raping Princess Sophie Bourdeaux," "b.. bu..but my lord, we were told," before I slapped his head off and said, "Punishment is death." Ty and Tommen killed every last one of the men on the list; some had mates who cried out in agony, even trying to attack my guards before they were killed. I told the ones living in the pack house that they would also be killed for treating their Luna as a slave and watching as she was abused, raped, and mistreated. Not allowed to see her kids, she was locked up in a small room, only to attend functions to pretend to be a good wife. I turned to the others and said, "I came here to kill every one of you and wipe this pack from existence as it is a disgrace, but I will give you a chance to redeem yourselves."

I looked at their Gamma, Spence, the man Sophie loved, and said, "You are now acting Alpha until Sophie's son becomes of age and will take over, but if you double-cross me, I will end all of you. You will answer to our Delta with pack matters, and we will assign a Beta for now; Sophie is still your Luna and will return when she is ready; do you understand?" He nodded his head in approval, "I changed my mind when I saw what was in the Beta's memories, not all of you knew or were complicit in the actions of your former Alpha and his mistress. This pack is now part of the Royal Pack; if you think you can't stay here, I will gladly let you leave, but duly note, you will become rogue as I will no longer tolerate abusers in my Kingdom. I refuse to punish everyone for the actions of a few, but this is a probation period, and hopefully, the new rules will set things straight; those who are loyal to Roman will be killed."

One Month Later

Things have settled down since Roman escaped my clutches; everyone has been on high alert and looking out for the Rogue King. Rumor has it, he has taken up his father's empire; we have checked around the area, but no signs of a Rogue Mansion or Kingdom. There is an abandoned town beside Lubartown that used to be where the rogues settled years ago, but Dominic destroyed it after I was killed. He lit everything on fire in vengeance, especially because he couldn't take out Roman at the time. Someone powerful was helping Roman hide, but he would turn up eventually. He was dealt a hard blow as we froze all his known assets, and the others were taken by my son for the Kingdom and pack. I could smell Sophie behind me, so I told her, "Sit, we need to talk." Seeing what damage was done to her, I tried to correct it, but she passed out, and now, I can only wait to see how this plays out and be there for my daughter as I have accepted her and Issy as mine. Roman losing everything, including his family, before he dies, is the perfect revenge.
