Picking up the empty cooler, Kelly walked out to her car and slid it into the trunk. Turning, she perched on the lip of the trunk and stared out across her grandmother’s tidy front yard and the gravel driveway, relief flooding through her. It was amazing what a week could do. After picking her grandmother up the day after surgery, Kelly had brought her straight home and set her up in the living room in her favorite chair. It was the most comfortable spot in the house, allowed her to keep her feet elevated, and was close to the bathroom. But, from the way her grandmother had complained, you’d think it was the worst spot ever. The cushion was lumpy, the footrest wasn’t soft enough, her blanket wasn’t heavy enough, and on and on.
