Shouldering her diaper bag, Kelly glanced around the small living room to make sure she had everything she needed for the day. Pursing her lips, she stepped into the kitchen and spotted Griffin’s sippy cup. Sighing, her shoulders slumping, she walked over to it, unscrewed the top and gingerly sniffed the contents. Making a face, she dumped the warm juice down the drain and set the cup in the sink. Opening the cupboard next to the sink, she pulled a new one down and filled it with water. Closing the new sippy cup, she peeked into Griffin’s room, where she could hear him playing noisily with the train set they had left here.
