24 The Isle of Muson Telk

Since the blind spot was just a tiny area behind the mansion, they had to swim to the shore one person at a time. They couldn’t risk swimming in big groups, since they might trigger some of the alarms nearby. It was mentioned in the files how there were multiple alarms sprawled around the island, they were thankful since all the cameras were no longer working—inadvertently, the red towers turned out to be more of a boon, rather than a bane in their lives. While quietly signaling to each other that the coast was clear, they quickly swam to the white sand beach. Although they were drenched in water, they quickly dried up since their stealth suites were made up of black nylon fabric. Kedrick and Igor headed to the other side of the small island, they were preparing for their distraction. Since there were guards waiting all over the mansion’s entrance, they decided to hide between the large rock wedged in the left side of the beach. Igor took something out of his bag, which prompted Kedrick to give an evil smile. The two chaotic individuals grinned in excitement as they could already see their plan going into motion. Meanwhile, the remaining three men immediately looked for a pathway straight to the billionaire’s extravagant mansion. The mammoth of a structure took about two-thirds of the island’s space and it had this minimalistic look with a tinge of futurism here and there. Since the billionaire was obsessed with organization and robotic features, his house had a state-of-the-art security system. “That security system ain’t jack s**t because there’s no electricity, save for some simple machines like radios and alarms. Gods were kinda forgiving on that part.” Haya said in a mocking and curious tone. They were wading through the island’s terrain and stealthily climbed up on one of the trees. After reaching the highest branch on the tree, they jumped upwards and landed stealthily on the roof. “Good thing that rich people are obsessed with thick rooves and walls, dude’s gonna get hacked to death and people outside won’t hear a single thing.” Thaleos muttered under his breath as he was scanning the terrain. Once he found his vent, they slowly crawled towards that direction. “You’ve been spending way too much time with Kedrick, you’re sounding just like him.” Haya commented as they were trying to quietly open the vent. The bearded man just shook his head silent laughter and held unto the vent as they opened it with a screwdriver. “Your trusty screwdriver seems to be working well against their ’state of the art’ security,” Ulfrick stated with a chuckle as he carefully eyed the multi-purpose screwdriver. “I have an inkling feeling that this is too easy, we need to keep our ears open just in case something comes up.” Thaleos piped in as he was readying to go down the vent. The other two followed suit. One the other side of the island, Igor and Kedrick was successful in placing five small boxes around the beach. Those little boxes were speakers that had the loudest sound across all of Ellis Town. “Thankfully, these babies run on batteries, saving it from the ‘no-electricity’ debacle,” Igor said as he was inserting the flash drive in the main speaker. Kedrick nodded his head in agreement and proceeded to kneel down beside the large rock. A couple of feet away, they heard two people talking. The priest and hunter immediately tensed up as they heard two security guards approaching their rock. One of them spoke in an irritated tone, “I don’t understand why we have to constantly check this stupid rock; they should just blow it up or something. They’re making our jobs way harder.” The other one enthusiastically agreed and even chimed in, “I f*****g know right, like ‘I like the view’ my ass. Rich people are weird as f**k. They won’t even allow us to go home. I f*****g miss my wife.” Both of them grunted in agreement as it’s been two months since they went home. “And dude’s expecting us to fight off the monsters that approach his little island, like dude get over yourself, you’re never gonna level up.” The first one who spoke ranted on in an annoyed tone. Igor and Kedrick eyed each other to agree that they should quietly attack the ranting pair. They lowered their stances and proceeded to wait in the shade of the rock. As soon as the two guards appeared, the priest and hunter immediately banged their guns on the other pair’s temples. This swift but forceful attack made the two guards abruptly pass out, leaving them lying on the beach floor. Since the other guards were decked in full SWAT suits—from their tinted face shields to their combat boots—Igor and Kedrick decided to steal their clothes just to make the scouting area easier. They moved the passed-out bodies into sitting positions, just to avoid any drowning incidents from occurring. The priest and hunter understood that, just like them, they were also pushed into the corner to do evil things. After fully suiting up in the security team’s SWAT suits, they proceeded to stroll around the beach area in confidence. Once arriving near the entrance of the mansion, one of the head guards called them out, “What do you think you’re doing here, idiots?” The middle-aged man scolded them in a raspy voice. Kedrick felt his heart slightly beat faster, but then returned back to its normal state as he saw the hunter readying himself to respond. “Apologies, Sir. We were ordered by Headguard Smithers to patrol near the entrance.” Ulfrick stated in confidence. Right at this moment, Kedrick was thankful that Ulfrick had experience in being part of a security team. It also largely helped that the dude memorized the names of the head security guards in the CEO’s hired team. “Is that so? Well, proceed, then. Make sure that you state this to the other headguards before approaching their posts.” The man gruffly responded and proceeded to maintain his stiff stance. The two nodded their heads in understanding and proceeded to walk along the mansion’s large entrance. While walking around the massive coffee-colored walls, they counted the number of humans around the area, and saw that there were about 40 guards. After a couple of seconds, Thaleos spoke through the earpods that they were wearing, “In T minus ten, activate the distraction.” After the beast tamer said that, he immediately started counting down. The three men quietly, but quickly crawled through the vent, and by their fifth second, they’ve arrived at Muson Telk’s office vent. Thaleos memorized the mansion’s blueprints and the CEO’s schedule, so he was quite confident that this is where the billionaire was. Confirming their suspicions, they saw the man scuttling an Akkadian cube in deep concentration. Haya cringed at the sight of the magical item being destroyed, but was jealous at the same time, since he also wanted to reverse engineer the cube. Within a split second, Thaleos pressed a button on the earpods which sent a signal sound to the pair on the other side of the island. As soon as Kedrick and Igor heard it, they immediately pressed the button, and then the island was filled with moaning sounds. The clear pitch of women and men moaning echoed around the island, inducing panic across dozens of guards. Because of the mansion’s thick walls and rooves, the CEO merely heard faint sounds—which still triggered him to stand up and walk to the door. They knew that in scenarios like this, the CEO would wait for the Chief Guard to report to him. They proceeded to quickly unscrew the vent, and only Ulfrick and Thaleos jumped straight into his office. Since they’ve been training their stealth, the trio managed to not cause any alarms. As Ulfrick hid in the curtains and Thaleos hid under the table, Haya was just in the vent and lightly placed the metal plaque back. As soon as the CEO finished talking to his Chief Guard, he swiftly walked back inside his office. Upon entering the wide space, he felt like something was off. He looked around and made sure that everything was the same, after being satisfied with how things were in place, he slowly walked back to his table. Just as he was about to see Thaleos, Ulfrick immediately appeared from the shadows and clutched on the older man’s mouth. The trio could see the panic in his eyes, as the weaker man tried to thrash against the muscular man’s body. Thaleos immediately slashed his neck and Haya threw a dagger drenched in poison straight into his heart. As soon as they saw the CEO’s eyes closing, they breathed a sigh of relief. But before they could let go of the body, suddenly, everything went pitch black. They felt like they couldn’t breathe and that they were buried alive on the ground. “f**k, the dude’s a f*****g illusionist. He’s probably still alive.” Haya stated in a panicky voice, he was absolutely claustrophobic and hated the fact that he was trapped in an enclosed space with no way out. “That can’t be, the status says he doesn’t have any specialized skills.” Ulfrick replied in an anxious tone. Thaleos tightly closed his eyes and forced himself to calm down.
