Chapter 4 The sea was bright that morning. It had been every morning since Maggie had arrived in the Siren’s Realm. The bright sun rose, sparkling on the water, and the breeze carried in fresh, salty air. Maggie sat in the opening of her tent, her legs spread out on the rock in front of her. Sea birds stared at her as she ate her breakfast. “Get your own bread,” she grumbled. But really she was glad for the birds’ company. They woke her every morning with their cawing. It was the closest thing to a good morning she got. “Fine.” Maggie tossed the last few crumbs to them, smiling as they cawed appreciatively.
