How they found us

9th July, 2021. The Guillotine building Guild official headquarters Athens, Greece. 70 year old Rico Hunter had just got off a flight that lasted for hours but he wasn’t jetlagged. He was only interested in the phone call that had woke him up that morning and got him back to Athens in record time. The current Director of the Guild was not a man who got excited easily but he seemed very excited as he walked into the building. He didn’t look like a 70 year old, neither did he move or think like one. He was still a hunter through and through and was a role model to all hunters across the globe. To have been voted in as the global director of the guild by more than half the members of the Guilds inner circle was no easy feat. Those who belonged to the inner circle of the guild were renowned hunters from the most respected and revered families because just like the celestial clans, this human clan officially called ‘The Guild’ had a respect for pedigree. The blood running through a person’s veins was very important to them because it determined how powerful and efficient such a hunter would be because they would inherit the combined strength and wisdom of all their ancestors who were hunters before them, making them trump cards in the constant fight against those monsters that possessed celestial essence and posed a threat to humanity. Those in the inner circle were from the families at the vanguard of hunting celestial beings on earth in centuries past, which means they were the most powerful hunters in the guild. Director Rico Hunter was from the oldest family of hunters in Guild history and although he had lost all his family and wife to the monsters, he had not stopped fighting them. It had only made him more sadistic towards all beings with celestial essence, he felt they were an abomination that shouldn’t share the same existence as humans and he was going to do everything within his power to wipe as many of them out as he could. He was in the elevator and on his way to the underground lab in no time. This was where he always met Professor Harrison Simons and his powerful mage accomplice, Hazar. Professor Simmons being a genius that didn’t believe any procedure was unconventional was the secret behind his strength in old age while Hazar was his adviser on all matters relating to people from celestial clans living on the normal earth realm. He helped with matters relating to people ranging from those who were vampires, Kravians, mages and even demons. Hazar was probably the most powerful mage alive, but after his betrayal of the vampire clan while living within Havana he had to self exile himself from the Havana realm and live on the earthly realm. The only way to live among humans and be sure of his safety from those in Havana was to join the Guild as a partner. Hazar had really been the engine of the entire Guild for years now but no one outside of the Directors closest friends and advisers knew this particular detail. Hazar would use his magic to locate people who belonged to celestial clans so the hunters of the Guild could find them and kill them. This time however the situation seemed to be intense, the phone call this morning had made it sound intense. Director Rico walking out of the elevator quickly and stepping into the lab was already asking questions immediately he saw Professor Simons before he even took off his coat. Throwing his coat on the chair he asked “What exactly did you mean by celestial essence with the magnitude of that of an angel Professor?” “Sir it was a shock to me too, Hazar told me immediately I walked into the lab this morning that his magic location spell had gone berserk and he would be unable to track any celestials today. I asked and he said it was because the celestial essence of a being same or more as that of an angel was on earth. Specifically in America” he adjusted his glasses before adding “He went in to meditate but hasn’t come out yet, he probably---“ “I probably just found out more interesting stuff.” Hazar cut him off saying as he walked into the room from the adjoining door. He never had a smile on his face, and even a smile would not soften his appearance. He was totally bald and has a scar running down the base of his left eye to his neck. He was a scary looking man but also didn’t look his age. He was more than a century old but looked barely 50, and it was obvious that the strong magic in his body had made him almost immortal and was also the possible reason why he had gone totally bald. He looked like an actual mage was meant to. “How was the meeting in Alexandria sir? I was really glad when I heard the venue for the annual inner circle meeting this year was in Egypt. I hope they earned the right to host the meeting.” Professor Simons asked The Director was getting impatient now and simply said “the meeting was held in Egypt because our branch of the Guild over there had the highest mage elimination and mage conversion rate this year. Enough of all that, Hazar! What else did you notice while meditating?” he asked his long time partner directly. “There was a person with near angel-level celestial essence in America and now 3 more beings with very strong celestial essence have also appeared in America. Their essence makes it clear that they must be from Havana.” He said seeming lackadaisical as he always did “It seems the Prince of the vampire clan has paid us a visit, he does not have any kingly duties till his father sleeps but his being on earth is still a surprise. My friends, it seems the stages of our plan are finally clear. He is the most important factor in our plan so we must capture him. Simmons, notify our best hunters in that country that they have a target and I will be there in person to help them with this particular target.” He was sitting down now “Hazar, you should get some sleep. I’ll need you to cast a lot of powerful spells when we’re there, so build up your strength.” Hazar left the room now because he knew exactly what was happening and he knew that if the Director was going to really face someone that powerful he will need an external boost for his strength. He knew what Professor Simmons would have to do next and he was not fond of it so he left the room quietly but quickly, besides he had to build up his strength before they travelled as well. Professor Simmons had great pride in his remodeled invention, while the left side of the capsule-like machine was drain the body of blood through the pipes that would be inserted into the major blood vessel in the arm, leg and neck while pumping in new blood through different pipes on the right side of the capsule. It was initially created as a sort of saving grace for those who were bitten by vampires or kravians to quickly remove their tainted blood and transfuse pure human blood into their body so as to keep them alive and prevent them from changing into the things they were to hunt. It was an unsuccessful project, a complete failure because even when all the tainted blood was removed the rate of change was only slowed down. There was no way scientific way to save anyone who had been bitten, magic was still an alternative but no spell had been found with the power to stop it yet. Director Rico took off his shirt and lay in the capsule as though it were a bed. The pipes were connected to weird looking metallic hollow needles that were inserted into his major blood vessels on both the left and right side of his body, the capsule was then closed because the process needed extreme cold followed by a short surge of heat that would help to activate the essence in the new blood being placed into his body. It was demon blood that was being transfused into his ageing body, gotten from a lesser demon that had been captured by a secret division of the Guild and then bled dry to die. The blood was then transfused into the director from time to time to make him stronger than normal people. The process took an hour to complete and as soon as the capsule opened up, the director removed all the needles that were in him and sat up. He stepped out of the capsule and then all his wounds instantly healed, even his eyesight became like that of a healthy 20 year old man again. He was ready for his flight to America once Hazar could ascertain the position of the strong celestial essence he was sensing, He was ready to fight. With the strength of the hunters in his bloodline combined with strength from the demons blood running through his veins, he was sure he could take on the current being that bore the title of ‘Vlad Dracul’. The king of the vampire clan was also the foundation of their plan to rid the world of vampires and all other beings with celestial essence once and for all, He was not yet crowned king but he was a king in every way else.
