Chapter 17It took two days before the military vehicles ran out of gas. They dumped the useless hunks of metal by the side of the road and resumed their normal traveling positions.
The hastened pace and added rest the vehicles provided did wonders for the group. It even lightened Camellia’s mood, making her easier to be around. Ken didn’t enjoy slowing back down, but Yuuki rode alongside her and cheered her up with sweet conversation.
After recovering from the traumatic incident with that soldier, Yuuki decided that it was an excellent example of heroism on Ken’s part and told her as much. This point of view led her to be extra smitten. She shot loving glances Kenna’s way whenever she got the chance, and she smiled—really smiled—at her. She seemed to feel safer now.
