Chapter 16It was a grueling trip. They avoided towns wherever possible, which took longer but kept them safer. Slowly, Ken’s wounds began to heal, and the pain of riding decreased with each passing day. Both Camellia and Yuuki seemed to notice, and they relaxed as a result. The last thing they needed was for Kenna to come down with an infection. Treating it would be damn near impossible without the proper medication, and finding that in a ransacked world could prove even more difficult.
But injuries and ailments were common. Shavonne, one of the teenagers, slipped while butchering some dirt dog meat and cut deeply into her hand, where the thumb met the palm.
