Alex set the empty bottle down and threw a towel over his shoulder. Then despite the fact that they were both wet and slippery with suds and bath oil, he lifted his owner free of the water.
While she linked her arms around his neck and rested her head against his shoulder, he used his toes to turn off the churning and open the drain. Cradling Goddess Rachel close, aware that he was the next thing to s**t-faced, Alex carried her like irreplaceability embodied across the hall. Easing her down onto the bed from which he’d been so sadly banished, he began to towel her dry. His owner would have none of this however.
