FIVE YEARS LATER
Mirabella Martinez, now Trisha Richmond sat confidently behind the wheel of her car, driving through the bustling city streets on her way to Richmond insurance company. She had come a long way since her life took a dramatic turn, and she had built a successful career as the head of the insurance company. Her intelligence and strategic thinking had taken the company to a greater height and she was respected in her field.
But as she drove, her car suddenly sputtered and died.. Trisha groaned in frustration, pulling over to the side of the road. She got out to take a look.
Just as she was trying to figure out what to do, a tall, handsome guy with deep brown eyes pulled up behind her in a motorcycle. He got out flashing a charming smile.
"Looks like you are having some trouble,he said approaching Trisha's car. "Need some help?"
Trisha's heart skipped a beat as she met his gaze. She felt a flutter in her chest, and for a moment, she seemed lost in his eyes.
"Uh, yeah," she stuttered, trying to compose herself. "My car just died on me."
The stranger nodded, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. "Let me take a look."
As he worked on her car, Trisha couldn't help but notice the way his muscles flexed beneath his shirt. She felt a pang of attraction and her mind began to wander.
Before she knew it, the stranger had fixed her car, and she was thanking him profusely.
"I'm Alex," he said, smiling. "And you are..?
Trisha's heart skipped another beat as she met his gaze. "I'm Trisha," She replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
Alex nodded, turning his motorcycle on " I will be on my way then."
"Thank you for helping with my car." Trisha said for the hundredth time.
Alex smiled and zoomed off with his motorcycle.
As they parted ways, Trisha couldn't stop thinking about Alex's charming smile and deep brown eyes.
Throughout the day, Trisha found herself distracted at work, her mind wandering back to Alex. She couldn't focus on her tasks, and her usual sharp instincts seemed dulled.
A large crowd of people gathered outside Miller Harrison's office, They were people, representing various communities and organizations across the state. Some held signs that read "Miller for Governor," while others wore " Team Miller" t-shirts
As they entered the building, Miller's staff was caught off guard by the sudden influx of people. The group's leader, a woman named Rachael, stepped forward to address Miller.
" Mr Miller, we've come to ask you to consider running for Governor," Rachael said, her voice filled with passion. " we believe you have the leadership skills, integrity, and vision to make a real difference in our state.
Miller was taken aback by the unexpected visit.
" I appreciate your support, he responded. " But I'm not sure I'm the right person for this job. Politics is a complex and challenging field, and I'm not sure I have the experience or temperament for it."
The group persisted, sharing stories of how Miller's generosity and kindness had impacted their lives. They presented him with a gift.. a frame with the governorship ticket they had purchased and pleaded with him to reconsider.
" Let me think about it," Miller said finally, his eyes locked on the frame in front of him. " I'll consider your request and be in touch soon."
The group erupted in cheers and applause, hopeful that Miller would accept their plea and run for governor.
Immediately the group left Miller's office, his expression transformed. He burst into laughter, a cold, mocking sound.
The governorship ticket, once a symbol of admiration and respect, now seemed like a joke to him. He looked at it with disdain, his eyes gleaming with amusement.
" Fools," he muttered to himself, shaking his head. His laughter grew louder, echoing through his office. He tossed the frame, on his desk, the governorship ticket fluttering to the floor.
"They have no idea what I'm really capable of". He sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. "I will take their adoration and use it to further my own interests. And they will never see it coming."
Trisha walked into a cozy cafeteria, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked cookies filled her nostrils. She had a hetic day at work and this was what she needed.
As she waited in line, she noticed a familiar figure behind the counter- Alex
Their eyes met, and Alex face lit up with a warm smile. " Trisha! What a coincidence". He said, his voice calm and soothing.
Tisha's heart skipped a beat as she approached the counter. "Hi, Alex. I didn't know you work here." She said, trying to sound casual.
Alex chuckled. "Yeah, I help out my mom here. "She's the owner."
She ordered a coffee and sat down at a table and Alex joined her on his break.
As they talked, Trisha found herself melting into Alex's calm and gentle nature. He was easy to talk to and Trisha found herself already drawn to him.
Their conversation flowed effortlessly, from their jobs to their interests and hobbies.
Alex kept looking at Trisha admirably, she noticed and felt quite fluttered and uncomfortable.
" Why are you staring at me."
Alex chuckled. "Would you like to grab dinner with me sometime?" He asked, his eyes sparkling as he spoke.
Trisha's heart fluttered at the invitation. " I'd love to." She replied, smiling.
After about some minutes, Trisha had to go home. Alex walked her to her car.
"I guess I will see you around." He said after they had exchanged numbers. Trisha nodded and drove off.
The dinner night eventually came much to Trisha's delight. She stood in front of her closet, her eyes scanning the rows of clothes as she tried to decide what to wear. She tossed aside dress after dress, muttering to herself in frustration.
"Why don't I have anything to wear?" She cursed, her hands on her hips.
Finally, she settled for a stunning black gown that hugged her curves perfectly. She applied a touch of makeup and tied her hair up in a messy bun, looking effortlessly beautiful.
As she steeped out of her building, she saw Alex who had been waiting for her over forty-five minutes. His eyes widened in admiration as he took in Trisha's beauty, his breath almost taken away by her stunning appearance.
" Sorry I wasted your time." Trisha said apologetically.
"It was worth it." Alex replied. "Can we??" He asked lending his hand to Trisha and she nodded.
The evening was magical, filled with laughter and conversations.
" I really had a wonderful time thanks to you." Trisha said when they got to her gate.
Alex grinned. "I should be the one saying this."
"And why is that?" Trisha asked.
"Because you made this night beautiful. Your beauty and radiant smile.. I couldn't get enough of it." Alex replied. Trisha's face was already red from blushing. Alex stared at her lips wanting to test it.
"Can I?? He asked and Trisha nodded without hesitation. Alex leaned in and gave Trisha a wet, deep kiss that left her breathless.
Trisha floated into her house, a happy smile on her face. Her parents were sitting in the living room, and they couldn't help but notice the glow on Trisha's face.
"Looks like someone had a good time." Mark said, raising an eyebrow.
Sarah chuckled. "I think it's safe to say Trisha's smitten."
Trisha blushed feeling happy and carefree. "I'm going upstairs." She announced.
"We have a invitation to Miller Harrison's house party tomorrow evening." He father called after her. Trisha stopped in her tracks. That name sounds oddly familiar.
Trisha's world spun around her, the memories flooding in like a tidal wave. She felt dizzy and lightheaded, her vision blurring at the edges. Before she knew it, her legs gave way beneath her, and she felt herself falling.
