Steigan and Martias walked in silence to the domini annex. Unable to bear it any more, Steigan pulled away from Martias so hard he slammed into the stone wall. “What's going on?” he demanded.
“You're a complete i***t,” Martias said, his face red, “and I'm worse for aligning myself with you.”
Steigan's hands balled up at his sides. “How do you figure?”
“Sometimes you show off how young you are.” Martias grabbed Steigan again and started down the hall.
“Why are you acting like this?”
