Episode1
It was finally the day I was graduating from high school, without ending up hooked on some drugs or being pregnant, and trying to either hide my baby bump or even the baby from people.
I wasn't from the best family you know. Mum and dad always had issues which always ended in dad leaving to God knows where.
Mum!
"Mum!", she didn't respond. I turned in the direction of the bathroom as I kept on calling out to her.
It had been ages since she got in the shower. We were already an hour late to my graduation.
"Mum, you need to get out, we are late," I yelled from my room, straining my ears for her response.
I took one last glance at myself, admiring how beautiful I looked before heading towards the bathroom.
Mum!,
Mum!", I called a bit louder, I pushed open the door and the most horrendous sight met my eyes. There my mum was sprawled on the bathroom floor.......
"Mum!", this time when I called, it was near a whisper with my hands shaky as I reached for her......
(6:40pm....)
(1611-12th North Street, California)
The sirens blaring outside my house attracted people while my mum was being taken outside on a stretcher. Dad was out of town. That meant I had to deal alone,
I got into the truck heading towards the hospital. As I looked at my mum, motionless tears welled up in my eyes.
"Who are you to the patient?" a paramedic asked.
"Her daughter," I said between sobs and sniffs.
As he talked to me, the ECG plugged into my mum stopped beeping.
Everyone went into a frenzy, everyone but me. I did nothing but stare....
"Time of death",7:39pm
I looked in the direction of where the voice came from,
She can't be dead!
She can't be dead!
As I looked on, my sight was blocked with tears. I could barely breathe
Today was supposed to be my last day of high school and probably the last day of seeing mum....
Funeral day
12:16pm)
(Urn:crying city)
I watched as she was lowered to the ground, my best friend, the only person who put me in check, unlike my dad, who hadn't even been home for more than 12 hours since her death. He didn't look remorseful, he didn't seem hurt, for someone who had worked her ass off for him. In fact, he had come with his mistress to her funeral to show her off. I was enraged but too tired to react...
"Who is she," I asked while trying not to topple over because of how tired I was.
"Lily, my darling, look at you, almost like a bag of bones," he said, reaching out to touch my face. The old me would have loved that, the old me who wanted to feel warm fatherly love, but now I was just disgusted by the man who I once looked up to and loved as he stood before me holding another woman by the waist. I looked up at him with my tear-streaked cheeks and tired eyes.
"Don't touch me," I said, taking a step back and away from him.
"And don't avoid the question, who is she?"
He looked at her with a sickening look in his eyes, as he smiled almost genuinely, if not, something I hadn't seen in a while.
He looked at me, all the love leaving his eyes. He never loved me or my mother.
"Your aunt,Stella! Now don't be a spoiled rude brat and greet her", his gaze turning stern, people had begun to get interested in what was going on.
I chuckled quietly before looking at my so-called father.
"Spoilt brat"
Hysterical..
I strode off, not minding the calls from behind. I walked and walked, everything looked different now or rather colorless.
I sat on a bench at the bus stop, pulling my legs up to my chest. I couldn't cry anymore.
I was exhausted .

Sunday,May 21th)
I got down from the bus and began to stroll home. As I got closer, I realized how dark and lonely everywhere was. Usually I'd be walking with her, but not today, never again.
I opened the door, took off my boots and coat.
"Where the hell were you", I heard as the light flickered on.
I knew what was going to happen. I had braced myself...
I ignored him and kept moving. I just wanted to get away from him. Before I could get to the stairs, he had caught up with me, pulling me back from my wrist, throwing me across the room before proceeding to whip his belt out.
"Babe, what's going on? "It's too loud, and I can't sleep," Stella said as she came down the stairs in my mother's nightgown.
"Davis, you disgusting man," I said, standing up from where I was once sitting wincing in pain caused by my abusive father.
"You didn't even let the ground cool off before you stuck yourself somewh....
He slapped me, taking the words out of my mouth.
"One more word from you and you will join that miserable mother of yours.
Stella stood at the foot of the stairs with a sinister smile on her face.
I ran past her towards my room but was long enough to hear her scoff.
"Send her to be with those old wrinkly grandparents of hers.....
I packed a little more than I could carry. I went out. As I tiptoed past my mum's room, I stopped, decided to walk in and take a look for the last time. Everything still smelt like her, like roses. I went up to her dresser and picked up a picture of her and I, tucking it into my pocket, looked around for the last time before leaving 💔...

I had started living with my grandparents, who were the best, very supportive but not financially, so I had started to work at a bar, underage but not a problem....
I straightened out my skirt in front of the mirror, touched up my makeup and headed downstairs...
Nana sat at the table while her husband prepared dinner. They were still so in love even after years.
"Bye nana," I said, leaving the door without a glance backwards. She hated that I had to do such work to make ends meet.
"Be back in time for dinner," she said, looking uneasy...
I hopped on my bike and rode off. The traffic was crazy but I whizzed between cars. Before long, I was in front of the bar where I worked....
I pushed open the door, making the bell chime, dragging everyone's attention to myself. I moved nervously, almost apologetically.
"Lily," my manager called
"Hey, sorry I came in late, traffic was bad," I said while putting on my apron.
10:59 pm)
My shift was finally over. I cleaned the counter quickly, took off my apron before brushing my palm against the front of my dress to remove the ruffles. I heaved a sigh of relief. This place gave me the creeps, so leaving always made me happy.
Hey!, you!, give me a coffee rum. I looked up at this customer who was almost knocked out by his so much drinking, i heaved before putting on a smile.
Okay!
I bent over to get it only to realize it had finished. As I stood up to go to the back to get some, I realized that the man was looking at me in a very weird way that I didn't like.
"That's a very perky ass you got there," he said with a stupid smirk plastered on his face.
"I'll pay you to shake that ass for me". He said, moving his hands towards me.
My stare had long turned to a glare that could drill a hole in his head.
